Arslan has the craziest defense of anyone I have ever seen. You legitimately can NOT hellsweep him. I don't know how he does it. It actually blows my mind
@chevychelios46725 жыл бұрын
Great react and mind play. Basically in front of of opponent if opponent high/mid string didn't work, then they will try low, so he just counter it easily. Also his pressure play is on point, jab pressure, magic 4, low pokes etc and big frame baiting to sidewalk punish. This proves that he is skilled and bold. Moreover he's using rushdown character. Edit: I always dislike kbd and coward play like when player just kbd and wait for opponent whiff to fully punish (safe play). It's lame and boring. Most korean players are habitual with this kind of playstyle. You can watch how Zeugal destroyed JDCR yesterday. JDCR always tried to escape with kbd, but Zeugal always chasing him. That was an exciting match! That's how Tekken should be played, bold not lame.

Arslan’s playstyle is the same as what the koreans do but he just has more patience and uses 99% safe moves. Also, kazumi is the perfect character for his playstyle. Nothing beats the basics: Safe moves, frame advantage by jabs and df1, and whiff punishing. That’s all arslan does.
@princetonvalera46705 жыл бұрын
Basically JDCR and his advantage is being unknown. We'll see how he performs after the pros study him. Will he continue to dominate like the koreans or is has he shown everything he's got.
@holden61045 жыл бұрын
When you play completely safe and do small moves only, the game comes down to who has better reads and adaptation. There is nothing to "study" about Arslan, it's just that he reacts and reads better than anyone right now. I doubt the Koreans will figure him out--they will have to beat him straight up.
@chinogambino93755 жыл бұрын
@@princetonvalera4670 I don't think there's much you can do, he already plays a 1 dimensional game, players know what he is doing. You cannot mix him up, throwing is dangerous and easily teched. The games he loses are just players out guessing him fundamentally or opening him up hard with risky moves after a long back and forth. He can be rattled when he strays off script but its not for long since he falls back to playing safe and formulaic. He did lose that day and had a close call with Mr Naps, he's a monster but I think the more he plays the more the scene will figure him out. Happened to all of the Koreans.

Great video but I'm gonna share a few thoughts and correct a few mistakes: 1. JimmyJtran and Book are easily comparable to top Korean players, barring their inabilty to use several characters at top level. AK is a bit tricky to estimate. 2. Top Japanese players (most of whom unknown in the west. Like TarisCutter who beat Rangchu and eliminated JDCR) can go toe to toe with the best Koreans as well. Overall, they're not far behind but are generally much worse at controlling the nerves, which possibly stems from their cultural fear of failure. Personally, I think the only Korean who is "objectively" above Chikurin currently is Knee. 3. The name of that Korean Kazuya is Boaluvb.. where did you get that Flower from? XD 4. Arslan's record against Knee is currently 7-0. Not 4-0. He also beat Sora 10-4 using Geese. The man is fundamentally on a tier of his own, but Knee might be up there with him all things considered.
@Backdoorsk5 жыл бұрын
He goes by both BoA Luvb and BoA Flower, first time i saw him was on a Knee deathmatch video, and the name was BoA Flower. Such a shame their match wasn't recorded, 2-0 against Arslan could've been a very close match, or a beatdown, we'll never know hehe. BoA actually said he got lucky, but maybe he was being polite.
@mazin91935 жыл бұрын
Backdoorsk Ah I didnt realize that. Maybe that's the reason TMM didn't recognize him when he read "luvb" instead of flower. Yeah its a shame that set (and many others) weren't streamed. And I'm pretty sure Boaluvb is a humble person who doesn't give himself enough credit based on the little I know of him.

Agree with everything except what you said about consistency. To get consistency you need to take a major L after a long reign of Ws and bounce back. Beating a bunch of people is persistency. You gotta be able to maintain momentum to be persistent. Getting alot of Ws encourages that. Let him lose a few times; see him change his main, or flip flop around with Characters. Then make a comeback and stay on top and call him consistent. I get what youre saying, but do you feel me?
@hancecabredo72425 жыл бұрын
What? But consistency means to do something often or always do that certain thing. In this case, Arslan kept winning, therefore it is called consistency. Persistency is when you are persistent on doing or getting something, rather, you want to get something. It's true that Arslan has is persistency, but saying that it's not consistency is wrong. You need to lose to be consistent? Then you should considerably consistent in losing. Consistency to win is what Arslan is doing. You don't need to bounce back from a defeat to have consistency, you need to always win to be consistent in winning, or always lose to be consistent in losing.

@@HATL201 I remember you and yes you're right. I remember when we first talked you just saw me as a Knee defender/apologist. However I'm the type of person that looks at the big picture so I was taking into account everything. His trophies being smashed the same weekend, his overall credentials as a player, and the relative newness of Arslan. I'm a competitor in real life, both athletically and in video games. Therefore I'm not the type of person to discount a person's progress just because of a loss. I wouldn't want my own regional victories and amateur boxing matches negated because of a single loss because it's not fair to legacy of the individual. I said I wanted to see if it was a fluke or just a good day, well now I know that it was not. So Arslan officially has my support and respect. No fake or fluke could do what he did. That being said just like any other competitor, he will be studied by the best as well. People don't become champions because they are complacent. So he will have to be prepared for that. People will study his playstyle, they will study his characters weaknesses. So like others he will have to adapt and progress and improve. He's an impressive player, but he's far from out of the woods as far as competition. Even if he has not lost yet. I hope we can see him more in the future, he is extremely skilled and the Koreans desperately need to be challenged. Those are the real tests that determine a champion. I'm one of the few people in this community that looks past the drama and tries to see the real potential and skill, the legacy. People like Knee, JDCR, Saint, Qudans, etc even people not in the Tekken community like Sonic Fox, Perfect Legend, Reo, Sleep, Reynald etc. All of them have done things that many of us could not do and deserve respect.

@@manrightchea You're right but why are you always counting on future? I mean can you not accept that right now he's the current "Champion" and a better player than all of those you mentioned? Because he literally destroyed them in their arena, in their game where they dominate and despite of getting the game 2 years later as compared to them. He smashed them, Knee 7-0 until now, Chanel 2-0, LowHigh 2-0, Chikurin 2-0, Book 2-0. And the rest he defeated and proved it who's the better player. If winning the biggest Tekken tournament ever and beating all those top players is not gonna convince you that Arslan is the better player than no accomplishment in future will either, I bet that. "He soon will be studied", who told you he won't be studied? Of course he will be studied and I'm sure Knee was beaten badly like 3 months ago , so he had "plenty" of time of study him, those were 3 freakin' months and it was still season 2. And sure, if someone beats him in the future, we'll definitely appreciate the better player. But for now, you HAVE to accept that he's the better player right now, he's one step ahead in the game than all of those you mentioned currently, you have to accept that. And I respect all of those players you mentioned, I'm a fan of them.

@@HATL201 See the vibe that I get from you is that you become utterly convinced because of basically a small dataset. Let me give you an example. The people that you have mentioned have been champions a long time. Nothing is going to take that away man. At one point Infiltration, Poongko both had Daigos numbers. People thought he was washed up. Infiltration beat him over and over, but he adapted and improved and came back and reclaimed his title. That's what a champion is. I'm not going to see one player as the undisputed king of the game forever because they win when they don't have the longevity. That's only fair that is how competition works. You don't seem to understand what competition means. Competition means that people will constantly study and struggle to beat whoever wants to call themselves the best. Arslan is not immune to that. He is also still relatively unknown. He has a lot more exposure now then he did after his first tournament because that was a very small tournament, Knee might have been there but not the other Koreans. Those individuals have been winning tournaments for like a decade. Multiple Evo wins, multiple Tekken World Tour wins. People don't become greats because of a very small career showing, people become great because of multiple wins over YEARS. Not just over years but over multiple sequels as well. I'm willing to put Arslan in that kind of category of player that deserves that kind of respect. But he is not some new undisputed undefeatable god of Tekken. Could he do the same in Tekken, 9, 10 etc? Could Arslan do the same if he loses his favorite character next game.. I'd like to know. Now with his Evo JP win, there is a lot more data on him now. I'm just telling you the reality of what he's going to have to face. That's what it means to be a competitor. I don't know if it's just because you're very biased because of like home pride or because you're very young. However it's not disrespect to not be willing to declare a single individual unstoppable when they have not honestly attended very many tournaments nor do they have a long tenure abroad. Do I believe he has the skill to become that kind of player, absolutely. Do I think that his win invalidates what I said about the others and their legacy, no I don't. I just hope your community can continue to get him to tournaments so we can see more of him. Keep in mind that Evo Japan is much smaller than Evo America, I'm not trying to invalidate his win or his ability, but they are different beasts those two different Evos. Evo US is a lot harder.

@@manrightchea I mentioned "currently" and "right now" in my comment which you seem to have missed, no one is saying Arslan has won international tournament for multiple games in the series. I'm just saying that Arslan is better than all those you mentioned for the time being, which he definitely is and he proved it. Even the undisputed number one hasn't been able to get a single game from him. So yeah, it has nothing to do with pride or immaturity, it's just straight up facts that Arslan is the better player "currently". They might take over him in future but again, that's future. And trust me, saying "Evo US is a lot harder" is something that I would not expect from a person like you who seems to be quite knowledgeable about the scene, it's hilarious. Japan is the place where you'll see pretty much all those Koreans and Japanese talents that can't travel all the way to US. Anyways, have a good day.

So Ranchu didn't have great movement and punishment? The dickeating here is strange...... but yea, great to have another strong player from a different region

J R rangchu didn’t sidestep, but spaced well. Played solid D. Blocked 99% of hell sweeps and Qudans wasn’t properly punishing certain moves.

@@guvnoir23 you mean ff2? yea, he was trying to electric punish it, which required too much execution... but it is possible.... the "he didn't know the match-up" is a weak way to discredit Rangchu..... anyways... hope Ash is active all year globally, then we can see if TMM jerking him off is really warranted. Qudans often loses to bear players though. He lost at Mastercup 10 to Yakun, he lost again vs Rangchu at the TWT finals, and now at Evo Japan he got 2-0'd against a player called Joe.
