Xpac definitely has a bit more of a rugged look, the material is slightly crinklier and you have the bright orange interior. If you don't mind the loudness of that - it's a good option. If you want something a bit more understated, more neutral (perhaps for the office etc) the standard ballistic nylon cordura with grey interior would be the go-to. - Ed

I really like the organization pocket, the updated top that’s much more ergonomic (or at least I think it is) along with the 14 litre volume. So many edc bags seem to start at 20 litres which in many use cases is just too much. I’m curious how you’d compare it to the ArkType Dashpack II which I honestly believe has been the best smaller capacity backpack ever since it was released. Even with probably at least 50 other bags that claim to be great edc bags, it’s outshined them all. This new Aer bag definitely has superior organization which is the weakest part of the Dashpac in my opinion so I’mreally curious about your thoughts on the two compared against each other. Great review as always. Cheers, Christopher

IMO the Dashpack II is one of the best looking bags out there and has the layout I prefer. But like you said, only drawback is the organization or lack thereof.

May I please ask if it can fit about 5 medium thickness books in the main compartment? I am asking because it feels like it’s lacking this capacity.
@RushfasterTV8 ай бұрын
The Aer 16" City Pack 14L, with its 14-liter volume and compact design, could theoretically fit 5 medium thickness books. However, considering its internal organization, padded areas, and the space taken by other essentials, it would be a tight fit and likely impractical for everyday use.

@Skydaze, Something not mentioned much is torso length and how the pack is proportioned. Love Aer gear but with a 21’ torso, only the Active and Travel packs are close and doesn’t ride high for me. 18’ is way too short and something to consider! Bellroy is a little longer and I have some of their gear. Interiors are better quality and more colors to choose from. @Ed, I don’t know why there aren’t many videos on Wexley, mostly Japanese and no English subs. I don’t know if they copied Aer or vice-versa but quality looks good as Japanese care about this and raves about it. I’m looking at their active (for business and/or edc), Nanaimo (for gym), and transit (for travel) packs. They have yellow and light grey interiors and uses 1050 cordura which supposedly is military grade. And they also have the same carbonate and cordura material as Aer for the front panel. Hope you can do a comparison review!

@@nomad0714 I currently own the Fit Pack 2 X-Pac and Transit Workpack from Bellroy. In terms of bag length that corresponds to my torso, I can say that both hits the sweet spot. That's one of the reasons why I sold my Day Pack 2, as it was too short. Wondering if I'd regret the City Pack purchase since its 46cm as per the site and 47cm is my preferred length of a backpack.
@nomad07143 жыл бұрын
@@KoIzumi24 Thanks for sharing! Yeah @@KoIzumi24is 47cm @@KoIzumi24 Workpack from Bellroy is 50cm, seems seems within your torso length. The Day Pack 2 from Aer is 43cm is more suited for smaller torso sizes. I think with you City Pack being 46cm, you may not see a difference with the ideal 47cm. When it is 1cm difference can be manageable but when it is 2.5cm or more, then it is a noticeable difference. Being nearly 21’ or ~53cm, the lowest I can go is 19.5” or 49.5cm. Otherwise it hangs too high and loosening the straps makes the bag tilt my back more than necessary. I wished Aer had the recent Duffle Pack 3 a little wider and deeper to give 30-35l than the current 21.4l which is too small to carry some gym equipment.
@KoIzumi243 жыл бұрын

On paper, this bag and the 'pro' version are just what I need, but they just scream 'IT conference' to me in terms of aesthetics. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I like a little 'flop' to my bags aesthetically. I just wish these didn't look so rigid/turtle shell-ish when worn.

Thank you for your feedback! What the Aer City Pack lacks in aesthetic appeal, it makes up for its quality and purpose. Aside from it's main compartment- it has multiple pockets/mini compartments suited for almost every gadget you can lay your hands on that you like wherever you will go. The interior burnt orange colour is not only unique, but helps you find small and miniature items inside on the go. The Aer brand is among the top flagship brands for backpacks versatile on all occasion:)

It feels like decades and they still will not give up that always-awfully-oriented-middle-of-nowhere zipper that they believe to be a good design. It also has no dimension, and means you can only fit items that are half that size, or you'll never get it in. The signature Cordura ages about as well as those 90s Swiss Army or Targets laptop bags from Office Depot. I actually relocate at the coffee shop if I see an Aer bag. 🤢
@nomad07143 жыл бұрын
@Paul Ho, check out Wexley, a copy done better. Taller bag, better proportioned, better quality, and deeper, and more interior and exterior options for about similar prices. Not sure why there isn’t much English videos on it. About to get myself the transit pack which is like the Aer travel pack. Others worthy ones are the Nanaimo (for gym and business) and the active (for business and edc).

@@nomad0714 I'm so over the black on black tacticool aesthetic and integrated shoe compartments that actually take up the entire carrying capacity. I love their use of FidLock though.
@nomad07143 жыл бұрын
@@PaulHo , are you talking about Wexley Nanaimo gym pack. I think the inside is yellow and yes they just upgraded the buckles to fidlock and the back has some hidden pockets. All packs has it flaws but for me, having a torso of 21’, I can’t use anything below 19’ as it’s too small and hangs high. And the proportion matters so you don’t look like you’re carrying a turtle shell. If you look at the other smaller EDCs, they have white and yellow (not my favorite of colors) so over time, looks like if Wexley gets more customer feedback on colors, they will add them on. I’m glad they have the black on light grey as I prefer that over black and yellow. What type of pack are you looking for?
@PaulHo3 жыл бұрын
@@nomad0714 yea I was talking about the Nanaimo, but the black on black on the outside. The unimaginative colorway isn't cool anymore, it's just lazy. A heather gray or fun deep purple would do them a lot of favors, but I get that's a pretty bold choice for a lot of people. I actually am not on the market for another bag, because I have more than I know what to do with. I have suitcases full of bags, the entire top of my closet is filed away with bags like they're books, and more bags under the bed. 🤪

@@PaulHo, tell me about it. For some reason I have a fetish for good quality bags or all sorts and keep collecting them.
