Super easy to catch bass on the delta. Only need 2 baits. White 1/2oz spinner bait with double willow leaf and a 5" senko. Find open area rip rap with small patches of weeks and just run the bank. I guarantee you within 1 hr you will catch bass. Maybe not the biggest, but you will get bit. Once you mastered this, try flipping a blk/blue jig around isolated tule clumps and use a red/black squarebill crankbait...you will be money! Always fish on the incoming and outgoing tide of the high tide and look for current! Good luck!

Welcome to CA Delta! I been fishing the Delta for the pass 10 years. 4 lures that i always have with me are wacky senko, frog, punch and drop shot. Generally high tide are better and you can catch them on anything. On low tide i like to punch and frog or drop shot the outside weed line. Hope that help and welcome to reach out! Good luck

Welcome to California and fishing the delta! The fishing will pick up. Keep up the learning. It’s a puzzle here sure. Often high tide that has started the flow out is good. So can be low tide when it’s coming in. I think the key is moving water that’s when the fish seem to bite more often. Good luck!

I can tell the frog action here is going to be insane during the summer. Also, I just saw a rat … a big rat swim under my dock (fully underwater). Thats a first! Haha I guess those rat lures aren’t a gimmick

A swimming rat! That’s a first. There are a couple more animals on the delta you will see besides the rat and giant rat (sea lion): river otters and mink. Oh and wild boar on some of the islands. There is one place with a crazy, giant goat that likes to butt a tree. It’s a wild place for sure!

Sea lion is there to eat stipe bass , the delta is a very unique water way and can be very dangerous and a lot of fun

You have to keep your eyes open for the indicator for where the fish are , watch the diving birds , sea lion and farms dumping water , wait for the salmon to get here very soon then more stripers and more sturgeon the list goes on good water run off this year!

I think I heard you say that you just move from Arizona, welcome to California! Once you learn the tides you will catch on fire some of those areas you have to fish dead center of the water ways look for obstacles if you have a electric graph and yes it is not lake fishing, I have 50 years on the delta and you guys have new equipment look for the crawdad traps and fresh water shrimper gosh I talk all day about the delta

Thank you for the comment… I would check out the sugar barge. They have camping right next to the delta, a restaurant and they’ll put your boat in the water for you. The food at the restaurant is really good. I’m not sure what you’re looking to do but that is a good spot. There’s plenty of other boat ramps around the delta.

The bass in the delta right now are in the spawning mode, so it's really hard to catch! If you want to catch some you gotta fish inside the island or dead slough Little Mandeville is a good place to start 😬 Good look out there and watch out for the crazy boat drivers!

4:13, Those boat slips to the left just as you launch, toss your lure along the rock wall behind it next time. Guaranteed catch or two even some bigs back there. Squarebill along it even if your getting grass just rip it out of the grass and boom!

Definitely dont be afraid to throw swimbaits there. Ill throw anything at the delta as long as the weeds allow it. Shit ive even thrown alabama rigs on the delta, if you do it in dirty water youll get lots of striper by catch tho. Glide baits work too

how heavy is your punch weight 1.5oz is the only weight I use but I almostly like to punch in the summer but you can do it all year around
