I finally found out what "That child's play back in school is forgiven under my rule" is supposed to mean -- it's about a public scandal of some kind when Travis Kelce was in school, that Taylor doesn't hold against him. That's the gist I finally learned. :)

This song has been growing on me, musically. I hadn’t thought too much about the lyrics until watching your video and now I’m liking it even more.

@@darlingcorinne That's cool that it's growing on you musically! With Taylor Swift that usually does happen for me eventually with any of the songs I first dismissed as "boring" musically. Then, for me, it becomes subtle but good in some way over more listens.

I feel the same way about this song. It's not hitting me in any specific way and the mood is sleepy even. I'm sure the lyrics are significant as always but I don't quite get them. You point out words that I don't think to consider as having specific meanings though. Now I'm wondering if the white wine is a golden reference. That does make sense since it's not really white. My first thought was more on the line of "love drunk".

Glad I'm not the only one to not love this song lol. Yeah exactly, that's a great way to put it -- it's "sleepy" and that's kinda weird. Almost makes me feel like she's not actually happily in love to hear it. I'm trying to believe what she's singing (words-wise) but the sound of it is so... "off" to me in some way.
