@@suvannaberkahjaya5984 there is a speed cap in sm64; the issue is that it's a *positive* speed cap. BLJs actually subtract from your speed overall, which leads to a negative speed value. There's no cap - or, rather, floor - there. I imagine this same issue lies in mk64, just lacking a way to build up negative speed, or potentially no *quick* way to do so

I am pleased that both of my infamous MK64 fluke shortcuts from 1997 have finally been recreated recently (Kalimari Desert fence skip + Wario Stadium full lap skip), especially now that I’m no longer physically able to play competitively. Kudos to those continuing the legacy in making these findings into reality. The proverbial torch is passed on.

Why would you assume that clipping through a wall should innately lower your time? The most likely result of clipping through a wall in a game would be that your beyond the wall stuck outside of the level.

I am amazed at how you are able to provide gameplay while also transition the camera and environment to describe every little detail. Like sometimes during a transition I'll see the skybox turn into a checkerboard. Is this still in the game? A part of me is curious how this is done.

The 3D visuals were created in Blender. I spent a lot of time making it so I could import the courses to look almost exactly how the game renders them. Then I was able to match the game's camera to allow for the seamless transition.

As someone who works with code, these kinds of bugs always pain mean slightly. So many of them are so trivial to fix (swapping the order of checks) yet no one considered these edge cases. Still really cool to see them being discovered!
