I was happy to contribute $1500 to your sailboat project last June and I admire what you two have done with the Trisalu. So don't take this the wrong way, but I really would have gone with another name for the vessel. Other than that, good luck and the boat looks great. The woodwork down below is especially nice. Thanks Ken! I was actually just thinking of the delivery we did for you last summer, it was a fun job and good chance to get back on the water again. We hope everything worked out with the engine and you were able to make it up to St. Pete!

Actually I wound up installing a rebuilt engine in the boat in Ft. Myers, but by then I was in a time crunch so eventually donated the boat to a charitable organization and took the tax write-off. I currently live aboard a 27' Starwind in the St. Pete marina, so I drive across Tampa Bay to work every morning. It's a nice life being on and around the water each day. You two will be so much happier after launch. I know I was glad to get out of Indiantown marina, and I was only there for about six months.....800 days, holy crap, they should give you and Jessica some sort of medal or award. Good luck on your adventure.

Be sure and use sacrificial zincs- very important in an aluminum boat in salt water. It would do you well if you study a bit about galvanic response and dissimilar metals. A copper scrap or penny can eat through an aluminum plate in just a few days. Good luck on your voyages!

When you Christian a boat, you are supposed to either break the bottle on the bow or the forward anchor. I don't think there are any set rules for re-christianing a boat however. I enjoyed the ceremony you came up with!

Great name. The human body functions with a form of fire. Fire is a process of energy transfer or oxidation. At the cellular level mitochondria are making the "fire" necessary to exchange one energy form (usually glucose but potentially ketones) to another which ultimately is how we have energy to live. Love the name, and the boat, and the work getting it back to sailing shape, but after all that work, would have painted that top part of it too, once you had it down to that nice surface, and did all that work, should have went with a nice light blue..or perhaps had Jessica's eyes computer scanned and used that color! They can do that, as a woman once had my old puppydog (now gone to doggy heaven :( eyes scanned because she loved the color, and painted a room it!
