Why KZbin never recommended any videos from your channel after hours of video time on monitor topic is beyond me. This channel is like a gold mine. So much information with such high-quality content. Amazing. Thank you! PS: Also the fact that your content refers to EU market makes it even better for someone from EU like myself 😁

For anyone that wants to know, unlike the MSI, the KTC H27T22 can do 8bit + FRC color depth at the full refresh rate on DP. I got a response from techless directly confirming this. Seems KTC has mismarketed the DP version as 1.2 while in reality it's DP1.4 .

can you expand more on this new to me, topic? It seems I should leave HDR off and just adjust slightly using nvidia filters. But would there be a benefit to leave on 8bit+FRC since i'll still be getting the full 165hz anyways? It wouldn't deter the performance for my FPS games right? Also is the cable included 1.2 so I have to upgrade to a DP1.4 to get 8bit+FRC @ 165hz or will the cable that's included suffice? I just placed an order!

@Dantido: Thanks for the info. I've enabled the 10bit setting in the Nvidia drivers, but can't see a difference. Can you clarify whether one needs to fulfill any other criteria to enable the setting, like replacing the DisplayPort cable?
@MondSemmel
@MondSemmel Жыл бұрын
I asked KTC support, and according to them, the DisplayPort cable is also capable of DP1.4: "DP cable supports DP1.4 protocol with a maximum transmission rate of 32.4 Gbit/s (final actual transmission rate is determined jointly by the board and the display panel)"

UPDATE 1: Reportedly some people are receiving a different version of this monitor that's using a different panel (from Innolux vs the original by AUO). -The original AUO version comes in a cyan box, while the new one supposedly comes in a brown box.- I don't know yet how the new version performs, so this review only applies to the original AUO version! UPDATE 2: I've reached out to KTC and they confirmed that there are currently two versions of the H27T22 (AUO and Innolux). However they now all ship in the same brown box. KTC want to update the listings on Amazon. Let's see how that goes. I urged them to choose a different name for the new Innolux version. UPDATE 3: Reportedly the Innolux version has 2 HDMI ports while the AUO version only has 1 HDMI. This should be the easiest method to tell them apart.

yep, brown box. I can't believe the contrast on this monitor, nearly as good as my va panel. And the blacklight bleed and IPS glow is minimal. Dark scenes and black background exceeded my expectations many times over. I paid $209 USD and expected a $209 monitor but I can't even tell the difference compare to the Samsung QD I paid 500 for a couple years ago.Well the 209 is not retail but still.

Man your reviews are amazing, I am interested in this monitor since I found it on Amazon for $240 but i still want to know something and hope you will help. So I feel difference from 60FPS to 120FPS but I really don't care for more, I'm not playing competitive FPS games and instead of running my monitor to maximum 165hz I prefer to have 100-120hz with better visuals if possible like 10bit support, also some features are not working with adaptive sync on and I don't consider such features useful at all, at 1440p with adaptive sync enabled in most games I will have around 100FPS and my question is how response time performs in this refresh rate range? I am asking because of most monitors performing best with it's maximum refresh rate and having terrible response time at lower hertz and this is definitely not what I'm looking for, i'll be glad to get any recomendations thanks...

How was your experience using that monitor?
@MondSemmel
@MondSemmel 5 ай бұрын
@@abdielmahardika9837 I like it! It has great specs (I switched from 60 Hz to 165 Hz and was surprised at the difference), the monitor stand has good ergonomic options, and I did the full Eizo monitor test and noticed no dead pixels or other issues. I'm a very picky person and yet I have no real complaints. I got the monitor for 241€ and configured it as per techless' review, and at that price point it seems vey decent. That's the short of it. If you want to hear some unnecessarily specific nitpicking, read on: It's a bit weird that the monitor has permanently-glowing LEDs on its backside - I basically don't notice them, but maybe they have some minor impact on energy consumption? I also don't know how ubiquitous that is. Other than that, as is often the case with monitors, the menu is a bit annoying; the monitor is powered on and controlled with a single button at the back of the panel; and in the EU it even displays some menu warning re: power consumption whenever you increase the brightness via the menu. But I instead use techless' recommended ClickMonitorDDC program to comfortably control the monitor settings via hotkeys from within Windows. Sometimes when I wake my PC from sleep, the screen briefly goes black and afterwards the brightness is lower than expected, and then I have to increase it again via the ClickMonitor app. That might be an issue with the app or with Windows 11, or maybe it's due to some energy saving behavior by the monitor; I don't know, but in any case it doesn't bother me. About the only thing I'm skeptical of is that it doesn't officially support HDR and thus I don't know if HDR works 100% correctly. But having tried HDR, the concept (regardless of which monitor one uses) has so many issues that I don't want to bother with it, anyway. (E.g. taking screenshots or tabbing out of HDR games is extremely cumbersome.) Anyway, I really like this monitor.

Now, that I have the two different versions here next to me I can tell you the difference between the old version (shown in this video) and the new version. Old: 1x HDMI Port Menu is shaped as in this video New: 2x HDMI Port Menu is shaped in a straight rectangle with a cyan text colour when you select a menu point. Also for me, it had the Version on the bottom-right hand corner (V3.0.1). The menu has also a better user experience, because it shows you which settings are selected compared to the old version. For me, I will keep the old version because it has no dead pixels and the new version had some. I assume that can happen.

Did you find any noticeable difference between them? The AUO model has arrived and I am happy with it because it did not arrive with any dead pixels and the screen is in very good condition with practically no light leaks. Now seeing that there are some changes in rev 2.0 such as HDMI 2.0 and a little more color coverage, I don't know to what extent this is worth it. It's really confusing because it seems like each rev has its strengths.

@@adaniel8632 Sorry for the late reply, but I got it off of Amazon. I grabbed it on a sale that was ending that very night, but it looks like it is back down to 240 in a new sale. So far it has been great, no dead pixels, I would definitely recommend getting it. In case you don't before this sale ends, I can't imagine it stays off sale for very long.

Just bought this monitor and i received a new rev. v2 with Innolux Q7E panel. New version can be easy differences by 170hz and 2 hdmi instead of 1 in v1. I think your settings will not work for me, because... I even have the default contrast ratio 60

Curious if it has Vesa mount? I saw a square where the stand and monitor connect, but nothing was said about Vesa. Unless I missed it, which is possible. Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a 1440p monitor, but not really sure why to buy an off/new brand instead of a known name when they are the same price and performance.

This monitor can do 1440p at 120hz and 4k at 60hz. It doesnt say anywhere online that it has 4k but it does. Doesnt have 2.1 but with freesync u get the 1440p at 120.
