A New MP mold arrived

That was an excellent tutorial on pins for the MP molds 👍😁 That NOE mold is marked #453-238-SWC because I specified #2 alloy when I bought it 5-6yrs ago. It is My 2nd favorite .45Colt mold. Because it's nose is short enough to fit in a Colt SAA or clone. My copy of the Lyman #452424 is too long in the nose to fit in a SAA or clone. So the Keith designed bullet for the .45AR works in both .45Colt and .45AutoRim. A Great Mold with a Great bullet. 👍

Thanks for the video CW, between yourself, the guys on the A&S Forum and some blog post on the MP site I managed to put my MP mold together the right way the first time and had a great casting secession with it. Can't wait for my second MP mold to come in a few days, the quality, attention to detail on the mold and casting with it is just outstanding.

The “490” is Lyman’s designation for the .45 Thompson design. I have a Lyman mould marked 452490F. It’s about .055” shorter in the body. The gas check shank is shorter and wider, which is a bit of a pain, but it really shoots.

This one is a bit long for my short cyl but fine in the Rugers. I dont buy new GC molds usually , since powder coating. Shoots very well!!
