Yeah, it was a long time ago but I paid less than that for both my AES and a full MVS cabinet combined. That pricing is nuts. You can easily build this yourself for a fraction of the cost with a little know-how. You're paying for the shell.

What is wrong with these people? There’s that other console that has different plug and play modules for most older generation systems, and while it looks nice, it’s way more than the actual consoles, and they’re nothing more than pretty emulation machines that I’m pretty sure I heard don’t even play roms. It doesn’t really matter, the industry crash is coming soon, and nobody will be buying anything anyway.

I used to have an Omega CMVS and absolutely loved it, this looks great too. These days, I use the Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro. I have a thumb drive loaded with the whole Neo Geo library and tons of other arcade games too. I think the thing I love best about it that it has HDMI out, the form factor of the Arcade Stick Pro is also perfect for me personally.

The OG Neo Geo Joysticks were also super light. It blew our minds back in the day. It literally felt as light as an SNES/Genesis pad. Let me elaborate further; the NES Advantage weighed more.

They were junk. I used to believe that SNK had a team of Americans behind the scenes doing their ergonomics. The final nail in the coffin for me was when they released the NeoGeo CD and decided to make the control pad totally unsuitable for 80% of their games library. A Saturn style d-pad would have made A LOT more sense. Then, to apologise, they released the kidney bean stick so we could finally play their fighting games with the precision needed... but the stick wasn't a ball top, or even a bat... it was a f*cking birdbath top 🤣 And the buttons (again) felt like 3rd party PC gamepad buttons.

I used to do custom MVS slot 1 systems back in the early 2000s and the headache they were did NOT make it easy. I was often sourcing a board, then an arcade power supply (I used Jamma harnesses for the joystick,power, and video) and until an arcade to cga/vga/SVHS converter existed, I was often tapping the video from the Jamma harness, putting it through a small video amp and running it as composite on a CRT. This was originally called the "Supergun" layout, and used MVS cartridges for each game. This is almost a breath of fresh air. But I really wish they would rerelease a genuine SNK Neo Geo AES or MVS. But SNK is now owned by a crown prince in Saudi Arabia. So doubtful we would ever see a new console emerge. You could make a cheap one out of a huge variety of old PCs, China Android TV boxes, Raspberry Pi, the sky is the limit. So is this a good idea? Yes if the price was for an assembled unit and not a shell. But no as well because it's not difficult to make your own MVS. Maybe for the truly serious collector? Or very hardcore Neo Geo fan.

The creator just chose the neo geo hori arcade stick design, there's nothing innovative to glorify or wrong to compare with the original stick since it comes from a different model not the original, it's just a hori design (that is my preference). Saying that, would be neat with seimitsu parts instead of Sanwa. Either way I'm not a potential buyer.

I like the look alot, as a package it looks good.... for me with retro consoles it's all down to price, if it costs more for a new retro consol then what the OG hardware would cost then I don't think its worth it but again that just depends on how deep your pocket is and how much you would prefer new hardware over something that's maybe 25+ or more years old that could have meny problems due to its age... so if you like it... amd you can afford it... then go for it... having new tech in my opinion is better then the OG just because of age related issues with OG hardware that's dated 😊 good video bro and cool console

I don't get the point of this. If you want to play on original hardware you can use a neo geo aes or MVS with supergun. And if you can't afford the aes carts you can play with original MVS carts on the aes with the MVS to aes adapter or on the MVS raw. I suppose it is for people who want a better aesthetic for the MVS but the price of the whole kit is too much to think about buying it.

Saludos, la placa la tienes que comprar aparte al igual el cartucho. Yo conseguí la placa de un vendedor por Ebay de Turquía, me salió en $65 la placa más $30 de shipping. El multicart que utiliza es uno que trae 161 en 1 que sale en $59 aprox. más el shipping.

I've got an omega cmvs and play it through the OSSC using SCART, no issues , it just found the signal, , I know some neo boards are a bit off spec with thier sync signal , something like 59.18Hz iirc, you could ajust for that on the OSSC using the remote

I have never heard of such a thing as a voltage discrepancy with SCART to OSSC. Why would there be any issue, that is exactly what the OSSC is made to do? If there is then something is faulty.

Great way to play Neo Geo games without having to dump a ton of money into the original hardware and carts. Neo Geo is not a cheap console to collect for. Most games can run you $200-300 for the original AVS carts.

This kit converts the Neo Geo MVS board (which is the name of the Neo Geo arcade board) into a consolized format, much like an original Neo Geo console which is known as an AES. The MVS and AES boards are essentially the same at the circuit level, it's only the format and dimensions that are different. It just makes it so an arcade board fits into a console shell and that's about it, just like a Super Gun.

Not a toy, its an arcade machine that plays real games from the Neo Geo MVS hardware. Its not something meant to compete with current day consoles, as its not a current day console lol

The kit doesn't come with the actual Neo Geo hardware, if that's what you're asking. All it is is a shell for an arcade board, unless you get the joystick as well - which is hardware. I suppose the shell is kinda hardware too.

There is only one true digital HDMI mod that works on Neo Geo hardware and has only been tested on MV-1C boards. And its something that costs like $200 just for the mod, then to have it installed requires soldering and skill to install it on the main board itself. Maybe in the future there will be kits that make it simpler and cheaper... But also at the same time if the mod is confirmed to work on MV-1B boards then it is something a person could have done to this at a later date.
