Great tip! I first tried this site after watching the video the first time a few months ago and was outbid. Your video popped again this morning and decided to give it another try. Got several bids up. Fingers crossed. I'm really wanting to get more into online sourcing since I work fulltime.

Definitely a good way to work it into your busy schedule. Cant win em all but sooner or later you will stumble onto some. I check once a week on all the online sites!!

Dude. Shhhhhhhhh. One of my best secrets is CTbids. Great place to source. Once you win a few large book lots, talk to the manager of that area and have them call you when they have a large amount of books they do not want to list. I pay them some money but the biggest reason they call me is because I remove books they do not want to list and I can be there within the day. I shouldn't be telling all this but I believe in helping others like you do, and so this is a good way to get "free" or close to free inventory.
@BobbyMC22 жыл бұрын
Couple of other notes....their zoom feature is pretty good so I typically look up a few of the books and if they have profit that pays for the lot I'll bid 50% of the profit. Also, 2nd and Charles now has done so much with me, they buy everything I give them with the duds selling for $0.10 a book credit. That means I never get books back and I use that low value as a basis for my bids as well. (100 books = $10 minimum with very high chance of higher amounts.)

@@BobbyMC2 Happy to here someone else out there has been crushing it with this site. Butttttttt how come you no tell me about this lmao!! Great tip next one I will leverage myself a little more that was my first pickup I did talk to the manager some so I'm working on that relationship. Also I am in the same boat as you with 2nd and Charles. I have $200 credit currently and they take all my dude basically everytime

Yeah, I bought from these places around my area for years but it got to be too many people knew about it and it items got to be way too much. It was fun though. I bought really old vintage items. They were right around the corner from my house

Placed my first bid. Overextended myself a little and bid $1, but it may be worth it. Not a bunch of books, but it's close enough that if I win I'm going to make a two-day book buying trip out of it.

No business license needed I operate under my SSN and have done so since day 1. You do not need an invoice when selling used items so you are good to drive right in!!

So you win a stack, after scanning, what do you do with rejects?
@TheUsedBookGuy2 жыл бұрын
Buyback companies. I use 2nd and Charles but a lot of local book stores will take trade ins. Also another great way is yard sales turn your duds into cash. It's super important to have a monetized outlet for them before you start buying in bulk.
@GoldAndSilver9882 жыл бұрын
Okay, so how do you set a max bid that you don't want to go above? If I bid A and then someone else bids B above me, it looks like my bid A is supposed to automatically go up above the other bid by a certain amount. Is that correct? For example, if I bid $5 on something and then someone else came in at $10, how do you stop your own bid from automatically jumping to $15? I'm not The Used Book Guy; my money for bidding is limited!
@TheUsedBookGuy2 жыл бұрын
Lmao come on richy rich!! Whatever you put in is your max bid so if you put $5 and you are leading at $2 and someone comes and bids $3 it will bid you $4 since it's dollar increments. Whatrver number you put in is your max bid not the automatic bid. So it's it's $1 and you max bid for that lot is $10 put $10 and it will bid you up until that point not automatically put it as $10.
@GoldAndSilver9882 жыл бұрын
@@TheUsedBookGuy Hmm. So what happens if you win but then decide you don't want to travel to get the books, lol? No one else has bid yet, and I probably shouldn't have because it's going to cost a ton of gas to go get the relatively few books. I'm willing to lose the buck I bid, even though it will sting.
