i have the same makita sabre saw as you, and i've always considered the sabre saw the most useless power tool i have-- to be deployed only when nothing else will work. you solved the problem with sabre saws by by making a blade guide that prevents bending/twisting during the cut, converting it into something like a scroll saw but with a wider blade and straighter cut. of course depth of cut is limited here, but this is a problem you solved with your other jig saw table by mounting the saw 90 degrees, which allows for unlimited depth of cut, (for example, to cut a hyperbolic cosign curve along the edge of a 2M board). excellent idea and execution

Very clever. I would just change one thing. To use transparent polycarbonate instead of aluminium for the material guide/sawblade protector. With that you get excellent view of the cutting point.

Nice work JSK! I like it except for having the blade exposed at the top. You need to make a cover for the tip of that blade as it's an accident just waiting to happen IMO. 🤔🤔

This is the third time I've watched this video. I think the jigsaw table is a great idea. A bonus is that the sawdust vibrates off the surface of the material for a clear view of the cut line. Also, could you please tell me what brand the clamps are that you used in this video? The ones that are offset with tigjtening knobs on the side.

If there were a couple of holes for bearings on the board on front and backside of the blade they could be used with a template . Of course one would need different holes for left and right side cuttings, unless the holes were instead grooves where bearing axles could move from left to right. For tight and sharp corners it wouldn't work either.

I consider you a role model for me in a simple and inexpensive way of thinking with great results, but this tool must be quick to remove and install instead of four nails. You can add a piece of wood over the saw’s entry path to be tight and then close it only with the small moving piece to benefit from the freedom of the saw with a battery

I am puzzled at how tightening the screw at 13:30 pulls the two extruded aluminum pieces together.

the holes in the extrusion have a countersink and the extrusion inserts have a matching conical surface that when they are bolted together slide deeper into the countersink pulling them back aswell. look carefully at 13:10 at the hole and at the hardware just under his hand on the left side of the screen
