Not even Rhino and Blender has those amazing modelling plugins such as SketchUp. Truly for architecture

Great demo of another good plugin that can save someone a lot of time. Creating a library has always been time consuming and having a plugin that comes with several libraries is a big saver. Also, Justin I really like how you explain everything and try things that along the demo that you wonder about, (options-etc). Thank you as always for all that you do for us!

Thanks Larry - I think there are some interesting applications for this one, but I'm also just interested to see the feedback that people give - it's an interesting kind of underserved area of SketchUp :)

Right now it can be use for virtualization and the level of this plugin is good

Wow.. Great tool.. Always lived watching your videos and learnt a lot from them. Is there a way of something likd this to work with prior versions also since this says 2024 and newer.. Keep it up, Sir!

Nice review-- It appears the column placement points default to their centers? I would note that columns are generally dimensioned to their centers. I also like the option to reassign the snap insertion point. Path align point also very useful.
@Thesketchupessentials5 күн бұрын
Correct - it was placing based on centers

This has a lot of potensial! A: Really interested in angle-iron profiles and threaded rods in the library. B: shop-drawings of parts will be a great time-saver! C: bolt: this is currently my biggest issue With SKP! Can one use the bolt-tool to place bolts on non-steel-connections? Wood-wood, steel-wood, plastic and so on would be great! The old extension bolt maker made holes and was versitsble, so a mindsiht-studio-version is very, very attractive! Best as a stand-alone plugin. D: reporting: can one generate parts-lists With either SKPs native report or With mindsights plugin?

nice and useful extension but should work more about the shop drawing and the analyzing

And If they keep doing this I can see SketchUp becoming BIM. Flextool is a good example of this together with this one. SketchUp as a BIM with its flexibility is next level.

Is it possible that SketchUp could become the industry standard for architectural construction drawings?

Thank you for introducing me to a good Ruby. I'm using the 2023 version of Sketchup, so unfortunately I can't use it, but I hope the 2025 version will solve the bug of the high DPI and make it available. 😍

bolts need to be standardized so that you're not specifying nut or washer sizes. If you buy a 3/4" bolt, the head, nut and washers would be a standard size. I don't see any need or reason to have options that aren't reflective of real world bolts.
@mind.sight.studios5 күн бұрын
You are right. However, we wanted to give users the ability to create their own standard bolt assemblies since it is not practical for us to create bolt libraries for all worldwide bolt standards.
@Thesketchupessentials5 күн бұрын
I do think I kind of agree with this - at least having some standard bolts in here to pick from would be good, though realistically it depends on the use case - if you're just visualizing it might not matter so much
@bobmccarter41355 күн бұрын
@ as long as we’re able to save the created bolts to a library. You might also check out the way 3Skeng handles their bolts plug in. It’s a pretty useful implementation

How to Get Complete Plugin Pack in Sketchup 2024
@Thesketchupessentials4 күн бұрын
I don't know what this is. You can download plugins in the extension warehouse and the SketchUcation plugin store

if it doest do engineering analysis its ( the BIM )not really worth anything. The engineer is still going to have to replicate everything in their Finite element alalysis program or whatever they call it to sign off on the design. Most of the structue will need to be fireproofed ... so in a redering nobody will see it. If its for an axonemetric to show a client - nobody cares how accurate it is. So I dont really see the productivity gains. It has to be integrated with the engineering analysis now .. If AI was used as an in out to the engennering..Id say yes.
@mind.sight.studios5 күн бұрын
If DECAsteel could export the structure to the engineering analysis software, would that be useful? This type of feature is on our radar but we're curious how many are interested in this type of workflow?
@fabiopiva22605 күн бұрын
I don't think engineering analysis was the primary target for this extension, i believe its main purpose it's to help the drawing process; I believe, just for reference, it aims not to Strauss, or Midas, but to Tekla, Parabuild, Advance Steel role
