Ah yeah I think you're right! Good ears! I think the "clear dark water", the visions when you sleep and the fact that the console smells of the sea, means it's all something to do with that octopus parasite affecting people's brains. That's a cool console design though. I kinda want one! :)

​​​@@AlphaBetaGamer According to the Easmemia Archives, the parasitic infection ends in a final stage where the host is compelled to go to the ocean and drown, thus allowing the octopus to be released, divide in a sort of binary fission (one half being an identical copy of the original octopus, and the other deactivating part of its genome and rebuilding itself as a brand new octopus) and mate with its other half, resulting in the birth of new octopi. The adolescent octopi are the size of a grain of sand, thus they easily get washed ashore and are confused with such, allowing the cycle to start anew once a new host mistakenly consumes them or washes them down their ears or sinuses.

HEY! This is frickin wild. Watching ya play this is UNREAL. I made this all in my lil bedroom and thought Id get a few people to play it if I was lucky. Seriously appreciate ya taking the time to play this, record this, (work through all freaky bugs), edit it, and post it. A crazy amount of work! All the comments are also makin mah year. I recorded all the voices, in my car, in the heat, in like 30 minutes because I like started having a heat stroke. I improvised the apple thing because I started getting really hungry and it was too hot to wait until i finished eating the apple. Not sure what else to add but just feeling thankful for all this.

Really outstanding job on everything in the game, from the voice acting, to progression of the story and the details of the setting. I was worried that it's only my tablet that blurs the image out, and that I wasted time straining my eyes to read something everyone else can read clearly XD The key is to use vector graphics in Photoshop, but you have to first convert them to those. Vector graphics as opposed to regular pixel psds are scalable and that means they don't blur with scaling, shrinking or resizing at all.

I am a translator by profession, so deciphering blurry images or handwriting is kinda part of the job. I'm just glad I didn't get to decipher russian cursive cyryllic doctors' writing. There are examples of it in Google if you dare look. It's insane that my colleagues are actually able to work with such writing.

I have paranoia, and this is exactly how I fear every single day to woke up with. A guy watching me as I open my door, being locked down in a appartement where everything slowly turn to shit and people die out there . That's exactly how I felt in the COVID 19 pandemic. I was expecting people and myself to start going crazy and being stalked. During the lockdown I spent 4 months in a huge ass student appartement rental building where almost everyone evacuated with nothing to do but study and play video games, with very little outside time, just enough to get food I was expecting some zombie shit to happen every single day, I was expecting the remaining guys out there to turn crazy and bang at my door or even break in. Even now 3 years later I clearly have mental issues related to that. I mean, I already was kinda paranoid back then but isolation have worsened my condition. Even now I keep a weapon ready in every single room of my hope. I have a knife under my bed and a tasing device in all my bag, and I have emergency pepper sprays at my disposal everywhere . The worst thing ? I don't even remember buying half of them.

ok so here's the real scoop. originally there was one box. and an event where if you "tried" the driver, he would crudely draw a bunch of dicks on the box. as the game progressed, the box number multiplied and the joke itself felt overly juvenile so i scrapped it. ha but because im not exactly...detail oriented, i completely forgot to change the line about the dicks. thankfully, the line is now 86'd into oblivion. but may the many dicks live in legend.

Okay, this makes no sense. The posters about parascaphism at the start suggested something, but none of the other things going on match up with each other. What does that have to do with whatever this video game is doing to people, the weird dreams, the zombie-looking monsters everywhere (they do not look like parascaphism victims, since the symptoms are totally different, and the replaced long-dead mom doesn’t line up either), the quarantine (the parasite only spreads in bodies of water, so you wouldn’t need to quarantine apartments or stay inside, just away from the beach), etc?

Hi! It's quite hard to make out on the poster, but the parasite causes visual and/or auditory hallucinations (among many other symptoms such as self-mutilation). As for spreading the parasite, I guess maybe it could be in the drinking water, but I suspect it was maybe delivered vis the console somehow. When you turn it on it "smells faintly of the sea air and there's a slight breeze coming from inside".

@@KnakuanaRka My guess is that the console itself is just a decoy. Either the box or the console probably contains a small container of saltwater that the Marionette Octopus is in, and as you play the game it gives the octopus enough time to get into your brain unnoticed.

Nice game, I liked the reference to 'Under the skinn' at the end and the mood in general. Too bad it's very short, especially the dialogs with the apple munching friend and his hint, that from a certain point on 'he' is not himself anymore carry much potential for more. I'd love to see an extended version with more content, explanations, an enemy, etc.
