Kostya - You are a 21st century version of I.M. John Donaldson. Your chess career mirrors his almost exactly. You both are good teachers and excellent players. An inspiration to all. The chess world needs more I.M. s like you two. 🙂

Got to play GM Demchenko in a Rapid tournament about half a year ago. He played Nbd7 e5 and h5 without castles against me and I lost horribly in 26 moves

5. ... Nbd7 6. Be3 e5 7. d5 h5 with the idea of ... Bh6 has been played many times by the greek GM Theodorou against the Karpov System. It is a very interesting approach to say the least

I think Bologan also recommends this Nbd7, e5, h5 setup against The Accelerated Makagonov in his King's Indian books and DVDs. Oddly enough Kostya seemed to suffer a bit from looks-good-itis in this game, and not playing concretely enough. Nevertheless an exciting and instructive game, thanks for sharing your thought process throughout.

Kostya, could you make a video recommending the most interesting annotated chess games (ten or so) on chessbase/mega database that you have studied?

Interesting game. I play the h3 line as white but follow it with Bg5 instead of Be3. Does that make any difference against h5 and Bh6? Have you figured out what to against this idea as white?
