Hi Kostya! I just joined dojo and am impressed! My summer plan has 3 hours total per day. I've been guilty of only training tactics on chessable and playing rarely. I'm 910 and was thinking. 1. Classical game or 2 rapid/analysis 2. Dojo tactics book like polgar/Simple Chess 5 pages 3. A variety of chessable tactics courses such as Basic Endgames, On the Attack, and reviewing Everyone's First Chess Workbook. Is there anything you'd change to optimize improvement? I really want to make my way to 1400 or 1500 and am realistically closer to 1100.

Kostya's recommendation is very good and reasonable. I am sure we will improve if we follow this recommendation.

For Ding I guess it is the Havanna syndrom. I would not play a WC match agains a russian. The risk of getting poisoned is simply to high. As luck has it, I am not a candidate for a WC match ;-)

Do an experiment: make a 1 minute video where Jesse wears a chicken suit while explaining the scholar's mate. Add some giggling and maybe yell CHECKMAAAAAATE. I bet you'll get millions of views and likes.

Yes, but… if Nakamura somehow becomes WC, he would have to be tempted by the idea of playing Magnus for the title, for the almost certainly massive purses that would be at stake, as well as the publicity.

I probably didn’t make my proposal clear: Hikaru would offer Magnus the chance to reclaim the FIDE title without having to go through the grind of the Candidates. Unlikely, maybe, but don’t forget that they were planning to play a match this past autumn, until it fell through.

I was taught a dubious sideline by a master level player and he taught me the themes and such. At first I didn't like playing it but eventually I switched to it. And playing that opening has helped my analytical ability because a lot of the lines recommended by Stockfish kill the nonclarity or counterplay I need in the position.

Chess has reached a point where it needs no further efforts for growth; the momentum is already strong. Ideally, eval bars should be eliminated so the audience can better appreciate what the players are dealing with. Without engines, commentators would be compelled to provide more insightful analysis. It's unfortunate to see talented commentators like David Howell having to dumb down their commentary. High-quality commentary will not alienate the audience. Most chess players do not grasp the nuances even with eval bars and detailed explanations.

I was shocked when interviewer said he should “let it go”…u don’t have to stand by what exactly kramnik may or not be saying but generally speaking, who if not people directly from the chess community can change it. Not a single pro is doubting there’s TONS of cheating going on so the chess community can be happy that someone is willing to take the heat and do the necessary, which is speak up and raise awareness instead of going mute. Interviewer saying “overthinking about it ruines the game” how one dimensional is his brain Problems don’t resolve themselves by ignoring them? Chess has a thousand year old history and is now at a point where sooner or later it will be ruined by technology if they don’t catch up and act accordingly. But hey, “ as a fan of the game, let it go, ruins the game” 😭😭😭😭😭🤡🤡🤡

I would add more possible good moves hints in the analysys section, not just the best move. In this way you understand even better what you can play. Also I would add an option to activate an engine while playing against the computer, in order for you to play and at the same time look at the best possible lines for the engine if you want

First time watching this channel and love the video, especially at the end on the b5-b4 / Rf1 variations. Not sure if you’ve explained before, but what benefit do you see from memorising a game in its entirety? Ive memorised a couple of games in the past and definitely noticed that in very similar positions I have more ideas for possible moves I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. But the flip side is that I sometimes end up playing moves that I saw in the game when they’re not at all appropriate because ‘that’s what the GMs did’. Curious to know your thoughts! Cheers
