I believe that Glendy and Daisy are sister mares. I've had some that although one was more dominant they were so close that they would actually nurse each others foals. Nature is a wonderful thing.

Mario is amazing!! What energy and coordination, not to mention smart enough to get in trouble at a few hours of age! Glendy did it all by herself and so proud of her baby. This is a wonderful thing to watch. A lot of work, much joy!

Shetlands and Dartmoors are both Hardy breeds that are semi wild breeds. In that they live on upland moorlands in the case of Dartmoor ponies, and with Shetlands the environment is even more challenging. So they are bred to get on with things without too much human intervention. Although with Johnny the Dartmoor being a bigger breed, the foals were going to be big.

Oh, what a happy moment for us, and Glendy did it all by herself. Mario looks perfect in every way. I can not wait until the boys see him when they get up. Babies are popping up everywhere in your stable. Only Reintje to go. Mario seems very independent as he cruses in his stall AS WELL AS Peach's and Daisy's stall. Daisy did not try to hurt him either. Amazing Glendy!! That is a big baby! Almost as big as a newborn as Peach is at 17 days old! I bet she is tired and in pain! Mario couldn’t wait to meet his sister. Master escape artists those two. Daisy was so patient with him. Love all the ponies.

Well, Peach and Mario were conceived the same day. Mario just took longer growing on the inside, while Peach came out early and continued growing on the outside.
