It should be make clear as first what number is 7^7^7 IMO.I found the same solution by chance(through 2nd method); It all works if 7^7^7 is 7^(7^7) which is ≠ (7^7)^7.I know, the former is correct and associativity doesn't work with stacked exponents by the way.
