Really loved the question! Question and solution was very interesting. 👏 I solved it in a different way. x(x+2)(x+4)(x+6) = 9 Let x+3 = y ⇒x = y-3.....(1) We take (x+3) = y because x+3 is the mid value/mean of our four terms, and if we take mid value, we will be able to take difference of squares formula later on and solve equation x(x+2)(x+4)(x+6) = 9 ⇒(y-3)(y-1)(y+1)(y+3) = 9 ⇒(y-3)(y+3)(y-1)(y+1) = 9 ⇒(y²-9)(y²-1) = 9 Let y² = z.....(2) ⇒(z-9)(z-1) = 9 ⇒z²-10z+9 = 9 ⇒z²-10z = 0 ⇒z(z-10) = 0 ⇒Either z=0 or z=10 Substituting these values into (2), ⇒y² = 0 or y² = 10 ⇒y = 0, y = √10 or y = -√10 Substituting these values into (1), ⇒x = -3 or x = √10-3 or x = -√10-3 🙂
