To answer your question about what the AU-1 is, I believe it's a modified Corsair that was refitted to be a strike aircraft during the Korean War by the United States due to their quite massive lack of designated strike aircraft at that time. The plane itself is very heavy in-game and was a bit of a meme at one point because if I remember correctly you could weigh it down with so much ordinance it physically couldn't take off from the airfields it was given in game. But yeah it's a Corsair modified for ground attack use and to carry more bombs if I remember correctly.

I'm not a particularly great pilot so take my statement with a grain of salt, but I've found my aim is much more consistent with vertical targeting _off._ It only seems to work when your plane is completely level but will very much throw off where your convergence lands relative to the aiming circle in any other circumstance.

Just Spaded the Yak-3U and HOLY SHIT is that thing an absolute monster. The best thing to do in that plane is to go vertical with an energy advantage in a 1 V 1. No joke, I dove on a Ki 84 on the deck at around 640kph, missed, and then went straight 80 degree vertical, I stalled out at around 7000 ft. (Could have been a Higher elevation Map). If you have this plane unlocked, I urge you, PLAY IT, the low alt Performance of the thing intoxicating.

Au-1 is a corair with an insane bomb load. I got it in a crafting event a number of years ago, then sold it for f2g1, tis ma, and a bunch of crates. It was the same event where you could get the obj 279

I believe it has a bomb load just 1000lbs off from a B-17. It can carry 1 - 2000lb, 2 - 1000lb, 6 - 500lb. Thats kind of ridiculous for a single engine aircraft, especially one that wasn't originally designed for it but someone figured out that it could do it anyway. Then they made a single engine plane that was designed to, got it to carry 1000lbs more, and called it the A-1 Skyraider.

This thing used to be a straight up UFO, but it has stiff competition nowadays. I bought this on sale several years ago, and my KD is trash because I ripped it a lot JU288's were unkillable, and the guns were mid at best. I still enjoyed it,, and it is super satisfying to climb with at the beginning of a match.

Interesting to hear you're trying Vertical Targeting, how's it going? In my experience it has two uses: 1. Allowing you to get a firing solution without pulling so hard in a turn fight 2. On planes with many calibres and wing + nose mounted guns, 300-400m convergence + vertical targeting can create a very large 'death zone' when you fire all guns. Also, you seem to be much more relaxed with engine management, I only ever let my temps go orange if my life immediately depends on it or the failure window becomes narrower - is it just specific planes you know you can push without failure?

AU-1 is a heavy late model Corsair for the Marine Corps sand is designated an attacker because the Marines used it as one. I think it might have extra hard points from the average Corsair.

AU-1 is basicly an F4U-7, meaning late F4U with more pylons (can carry a ton of ordanance) and 20MM guns, in terms of performance it is still much worse then the premium F2G

Vk107 desperately needs MEC. Prop pitch at 94, rads at 40-45. SC gear switch at 2k meters. You can hold WEP indefinitely and there is no performance drop off. Also, if you drop you throttle to 0, it acts like an air brake. This is crucial for diving on all the aircraft you will be above. Vk107 rip speed is brutally low, and if you get to it, you will lock up.

From what i can tell, the vk 107 have better performance when 100% throttle by about 150hp, but like 40 less in WEP. have a different 20mm mounted through the motor (hence it's the M model) that fires 50 more rounds per minute due to not having to synchronize with the prop blades. Also the aerodynamics make it retain better its energy and gain better in a dive, all thanks to the inline engine... but at the cost of having the water radiator hanging from under the fuselage like a pair of balls ready to be kicked. It should perform better than the 3U but slightly less survivable Very pricey tho, for half the regular price it's acceptable, but bear in mind that the Su11 is just over there, and for that more GE if your concern is to exterminate and become a millionaire, well... you really have to like flying props to choose the VK.

Hey man can you check out the German 8.7 premium jet I forget the name but it's got some crazy ass SL modifier as well. It between the 2 squadron vehicles in the tree and It has a natural like (plane itself has a 3.38 or something nuts) %1159 SL modifier with premium acc and no boosters! For comparison the F4S only gets 900something% Only caveat is AIM9B (you do get 4 tho) and 4 .50s instead of cannons
