yeah that is usually the issue with this plane. Its especially not fun when something like an A7m or J2m5 just refuses to take the bait. More often than not I have to abuse the rollrate against planes with bad roll so I can force overshoot and pull up after them when they pitch back up. Against spits and A7ms at least I have roll advantage, but against J2ms if he doesn't drop his altitude I cannot kill him. Its very satisfying when I get a overshoot kill though

The reason you can't WEP isn't because of altitude, it's because on auto engine controls it will switch to supercharger gear 2 at 3800m and supercharger gear 2 doesn't have WEP.

Personally, I find the high altitude performance ok, it has soooo much power that even when you lose 40% of it, it still has enough to survive. you still ideally want to fight below 3km, but if you have an energy advantage, you can absolutely fight things up to 6km.

Bro for all 6.0 and below Russian fighters, you need to exclusively use tracer belts. The Russian Fragmentation Incendiary tracer rounds are like Russia’s take on German famous miningeshov. You almost always light the enemy on fire in 4 shots and pilot snipe often due to frag damage. Additionally, you shred critical components which makes second passes easy as shit if you didn’t already obliterate their plane.

I noticed with the yak3u can't belly land it AT ALL. It doesn't matter how lightly I touch the ground. As soon as my fuselage touches, pilot dies. All other yaks, I can land with no gear at 300mph, bounce off the ground and it's fine. The yak 3 u, touch the ground like a feather and you're dead

WEP can be used above 4,000 meters, however it requires you use MEC for it to work, as it only can be used on Supercharger Gear 1. Overall, WEP will rarely be more useful than changing supercharger gears and the Yak-3U is still decent at higher altitudes if played properly

finally after 4½ years I got my first jet which is the F2H and God damn boy it can hold it's ground perfectly in an Uptier against Mig-21's, so maybe you could try that jet. I guess I have about 2500~ hours in the game but still, I wanna see how someone like you with God knows how many hours thinks of the Banshee

Well Ki-84 is overgrown zero that relies on being a low flying, pacient pest that ends the fights when it enters any situation- no i didn't manage to get 1v5 resolved in clear win but that's due to diffrent nature of fights at that br's that makes the sphere of influence impossible to follow reliably due to speeds at that brs. It's just a way too hard keep track of all the targets when moust of them can zoom towards you at 800+ kph from any direction compared to zero's that need to deal with far less high speed targets. Any advantage you might have over Ki-84's are at higher than 3km of alt when it's engine struggle to keep up with larger airframe unlike zero that can still swing well up to 5km. I'm also think that yak can have superiour kinetic energy retention as hayate looses speed dramatically fast - unlike a6m's that can conserve decent speed through couple turns before it gets into the zone of sustained turn rate. If you can force hayate to do turn through more than 120deg you should be able to run away as it will force that boi to go down range of sub 350kph. Also NGL I like killing coomies in that waiting period that you described as i'm also forced to wait.

I had some experience fighting 1v1s against yak3us and vk107s in my ki84… I lost every single time. I think the yak3u is superior to the ki84 at all altitudes. ki84 might turn better at low speed, but it drops to that speed a lot quicker than the 3u and vk107. Plus after checking some performace numbers. They have similar climb above 4000m, but the yaks are still a bit faster. Not to mention they roll better as well

@@Disliker16 I fear your mistake in ki-84 is engaging them at wrong alt as turn-and-burn strategy is more effective lower in the air collumn due to diffrence of atmospheric density. I'm really suprised to thear that you have significan problems with them knowing what sort of joy they bring to me. Although i admit that figuring out propewr way to play them took me beyond spading all 3 of them- but i expect that's due to my insitance to try do MEC all the time.

@@radosaworman7628 So the correct way to kill a yak3u is to fight them at low altitude? It seems very counterintuitive to me because 3u is just extremely powerful below 4k, being able to do 630 on the deck and climb rate similar to the p51h. I am grinding it out and planning on buying it during Christmas They are great planes and I very much like flying them. It really seems like a better p51d30. However it does have very strong competition as well… F2G, Yak3u, Vk107, LF mk.9, mk.22, P47M. People around that tier generally will not turn-fight anything in american props. Which is strange because they mostly do in lower tiers

@@Disliker16 I generally fly them low, keeping high speed loitering untill someone will make a mistake of loosing too much speed at my general altitude. That tactic require to get enemy gravely injured in first turn (which is not that hard with later two variants). Only one which requires diffrent strategy is Ko (the one at 5.3) which focuses on harrasinng enemy with very short accurate bursts of 12.7s to force enemy to loose speed and slowly grind down your enemies capabilities by injuring crucial components for manuverability and speed. It’s not impossible to get enemy killed with 12.7 as HEFI rounds despite their low velocity are quite devastating despite being outshined by other more popular choices. I also do not know weather my tactics aren’t too vulture like and too dependent on my years of MEC experience that lets me abuse certain characteristics of the plane- as I frequently end my matches limping back to base with many heavy damages to non critical components of my plane and bearly working engine (as MEC allows you to both WEP keep engine running when yellow way longer than auto engine management). Another thing is my tendency to use my turn and burn planes as clean up or balance changer in nearly lost fights (something I dubbed “way of the pest”). I personally hardly enjoy too many fights in those planes as space I need to pay attention to is far too large and far too vast for me too keep up for prolonged time.

Day 5 of asking to play the yak4 at 2.0 Start by a dive directly at q base that has another base clise to it ( 2 bases beside each other) 4 bombs for each Go straight to your base killing some ai on the way with your 7.62 Some planes will come on your back going in a straigh line with minimal evading is recommended and try to hit their engines with ur turret since they have weak engines a damaged one will lead them to crash i return to the airfield with 2 bases with 4 to 5 ai kills and 1 or 2 planes after taking off i go for bases if left but if not i will focus on ground targets cuz aa is the bain of this plane so bombing airfields is not recommended Bonus:do not forget to have smoke always on to piss the enemies 🤣

I think u have the stealth belt in the menu (hangar), so when u changed to universal while u were in game, that will only change to that match and then go back to what it is on the hangar, try that and let us know if it worked

Just a bit of feedback not related to the subject of the video: I love your content but the outro music is consistently very loud in comparison to the actual video's audio. Makes it rather annoying to be watching the video and then immediately have to pause or exit when the outro comes around cause its so loud.
