Oladiti Abass I love that! Thank goodness for him and Tayo! My friend was not as lucky, she met, fell in love with and married a Yoruba man from Lagos. He soon brought his “sister and her so-called son” to visit. One day she went home at lunch time to check them drop off food. To her shock, she found her husband in bed with his so called sister. It turned out that the sister was actually his wife and the child was his son. He was using her to get South African citizenship documents. Just like here in America Nigerians call African Americans AKATA. I take exception to that label because African Americans sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears in slavery, Jim Crow, Segregation, KKK and after so that we can fly to America and benefit. I AM HAPY TO SEE US BE UNIFIED AS LONG AS THERE IS NO EXPLOITATION. I am South African and do business in Nigeria and have been to Nigeria MANY times. We are one people irrespective of country of birth.

He introduced us to the girl which was his wife and told his wife these are my brothers. They took us to a buffet, all you can eat. They paid for us. That was the first nice meal l eat in Canada. By the time I got to high school, we had a lot of teachers from other African countries mainly Nigerians. So, I was taught by Nigerian teachers in high school. One of my favourite novelists is the famous Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I have Nigerian friends. So, when people want to paint everyone with the same brush, I do not partake in such narratives because my experience has been very different and I believe every society has the good and the bad, and I prefer to focus on the good.

To this day my South African friends always ask when l am coming back, since my degree has more value in SA. But l ended up starting my own company and am trying to educate my people on the importance of my field (which is looked down upon as well... so l understood exactly what Mr Lukeman meant). The other thing is it’s very hard getting proper working permits in any country...so l always have to explain to my South African friends that l will only come as a taxpayer or just for weekend only. Even have my SARS number...that was easy. It’s the other paperwork that is just near impossible. But l am glad Mr Lukeman persisted and now he’s employing people and helping people archive and better themselves. We need more of this lifting each other up regardless of nation. The goal should be to work hard and build together.

Actually at university amongst each other and our parents warn us against mixing or engaging with the men. No one ever has anything bad to say about Nigerian women though as they are viewed differently, generally seen as good ppl...a Nigerian woman braids my friend’s hair. I heard a story of a Nigerian mechanic who emigrated to an European country, and was just walking on street one day and he heard the sound of a car a white guy was trying to fix. He walked up to the white guy and said based on the sound he heard from the vehicle, he knew what was wrong with the car. The guy actually fixed the vehicle right there. The problem in Nigeria is just the culture and the way our people reason.

I hope this will put to rest the misconception that Nigerians 🇳🇬 are taking South African 🇿🇦 jobs? Because there are 1,000,001 Lukman currently here in Nigeria and in the Diaspora. My suggestion is #Skill-Africa

No I’ve never heard a South African complain about Nigerian taking job, it’s always the drugs my friend, that’s what most South Africans hate and it’s unfortunate that that what Nigerians are known for. A few bad Nigerian actors have created a bad name for majority of hard working Nigerians which is pretty sad.
@sandilebm78g524 жыл бұрын
Funsho Jimoh so you’re going to reference a media article that only tells half the story. I can tell you without hesitation that South Africans see things the way I’ve just described to you. But believe what you must, facts won’t change just cause you don’t like them
@sandilebm78g524 жыл бұрын
Funsho Jimoh the only foreign nationals that South Africans accuse of taking jobs are from neighboring countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia. Find reliable sources for your research next time. The media will never tell you facts. Their job is to sensationalize and create chaos so they can sell news.
@funshojimoh80594 жыл бұрын
@@sandilebm78g52 I'm giving you a quick reference. This is one of the most unbiased news platforms in Nigeria. My blood brother has been living in South Africa🇿🇦 for 6years but stuck in Nigeria after a visit before the lockdown. I know exactly what I'm stating here. Like that wasn't enough, The Real Issue behind the Attacks on Nigerians 🇳🇬 isn't mainly as a result of illicit drug 💊 trade but for the fact that many Nigerians entice South African women and as a result of that South African 🇿🇦 men accuse Nigeria 🇳🇬 men of taking their women away from them by throwing money on their faces

There are so many incredibly respectful Nigerians who come to South Africa 🇿🇦 and such people will never experience resistance from South Africans. I pray that the ones who come here with a sense of entitlement and no respect can see this and learn from this man. We can all live peacefully together as long as we respect the laws and people of every African country we find ourselves in. 🥳🥳🥳
