To apply the idea of having to prepare for the desert, perhaps you could make a straw or leather hat, or a combination of both to better protect yourself from the sun! Finally, several water gourds would be better as well as several skins sewn in a sleeping bag or to serve as a cover at night, such as a basket shoulder to free your hands, could be these tools very useful for your safety and comfort?

I wonder, have you ever thought about trying to build a hut in the spirit of the primitive hut series out in that kind of desert, between the rocks? I imagine it must be much more difficult, access to adobe material is hard if not impossible, but i can't help but to think that a man of your skill and enthusiasm must be able to thrive and flourish in these surroundings too. Ever thought about a hut there?
@ChadZuberAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Yes! I have been thinking a lot about that and observing locations. It would be very different from my current hut and it would be very difficult to do at this time of year due to the intensity of the labor on such hot days and the lack of water in the region. Perhaps I should do this in the winter months.
@RamdomGuy13374 жыл бұрын
@@ChadZuberAdventures I am very much looking forward to that! Sadly, my own access to deserts and steppes is somewhat limited (Western Europe reporting in), I would really love to see what is possible in such a harsh and difficult biome, but perhaps a small valley oasis or water source could be the ideal primitive hut place? Depending on what materials you have around, there is a plethora of things I can think of that one could test out, Pseudo-Quanats, primitive irrigation systems, stone-age tools, primitive desert-adapted architecture (think wind "towers" here, shading and insulation against both heat and cold). Damn, now I am hyped!
