Old spongebob was so special and funny the new spongebob just feels childish and not as deep. Old spongebob had Shakespeare references and all kinds of crazy stuff and now it’s all nonsense :(

It’s not just the show’s content that contributes to the special feeling of old SpongeBob but the circumstances that old SpongeBob was watched under. Like for me, old SpongeBob means the slightly different character design they had for SpongeBob in the earlier seasons, the OG painted backgrounds, and the Nickelodeon bumpers that were on at the time, but it also means being 6-7 years old watching seasons 1-3 in 4:3 aspect ratio on a 480p TV at my grandma’s house because my mom wouldn’t let me watch it at home cause she thought it’d “rot my brain”.

No other cartoon or show made me feel like spongebob did. It’s so hard to describe. Old spongebob was like a baby blanket or something, it was so funny, comforting and it felt like spongebob was a friend when I was a kid :) I could watch spongebob for hours and hours. It was really the perfect show and I still can’t describe the feeling of what it was like to sit and watch it at night after school or on a snow day inside, or on DVD in the morning. I don’t think any cartoon will be able to create that feeling again. The special Christmas episodes and Halloween episodes always got me in the spirit. I miss watching them on dvd at home, I haven’t felt like that since. The music, deepness and humor were perfect. So many good memories.

It's no wonder this show had such a strong start. Stephen Hillenburg had such a passion for marine life and the writing team put a lot of love into storyboarding and scripting. The early animation also felt nice too. It didn't feel too clean and it was really fluid. To be a kid again

I have always noticed that SpongeBob's ambience music has some kind of charming energy, which at the same time fascinates and brings a slight peace, as if you are literally living the night in Bikini Bottom. At these moments, I feel like I want to lie down on a beach chair, pick up a soda and enjoy by harmony of the night atmosphere near the pineapple house under lulling sounds of jellyfish and ocean waves, accompanied by relaxing composition of ukulele.

I woke up last night screaming at the top of my lungs from a terrifying nightmare and I scrolled through KZbin for a bit to see if I could find something relaxing to watch and this was in my feed. I fell asleep peacefully while this was on. It is beautiful.

Every day my grandpa would pick me up from school and I would sit on the couch with my Takis and sweet tea and watch SpongeBob for hours until my mom got home. I have always loved this show and it will forever be a part of my childhood. I don’t regret the time I spent learning the whole backstory about any and every episode, I as a person enjoy any part about this entire show…no joke. I appreciate you posting this, and I know that it’s just some bikini bottom music, but not when you had a childhood like me man. I’ve watched every episode and I will forever be happy knowing that I know the deep lore about this show. May the day come when this masterpiece of a show end, my childhood will end. I love the feeling of hearing the music of SpongeBob and immediately knowing what part of an episode it was from, you never thought that you could hear music and know exactly how a character was feeling until you’ve watched enough SpongeBob. I am forever grateful for all the memories I’ve had and I will love and cherish SpongeBob for carrying my entire childhood. Nothing is better than the sound of a SpongeBob episode and knowing it’s going to be an amazing day. The show will never fail to put a smile on my face. ♥️

I was hospitalized on July for an internal stomach problem. I was alone and couldnt eat anything. My body was weak and numb and my brain was slow. All i did is binge on spongebob without a care in yhe world. Somehow it was one of the happiest and most chill experiences ive ever had

Spongebob has always been there for me, regardless of what was occuring in my life, Spongebob was there. Everytime someone important in my life dies, I watch old spongebob. Everytime I go through something terrible, Spongebob is there, It makes me feel better, reminds me of my childhood, we had the spongebob DVDS, and our car had a little mini TV of a sort. We would always play that episode of spongebob where sandy was hibernating, its the most nostalgic to me, I feel like i'll never get to feel that sort of joy again. I just recently had a failed surgery, I'm a figure skater, but my knee meniscus has ripped totally in half, had a surgery, but it failed, im back where I started, I have another surgery scheduled for October 23rd, theres a chance this one will fail aswell. I have to finish a whole semesters-worth of school in that timeframe, I have no clue if I will be able to do it. I also just recently lost my childhood cat, Bell. She and I would always watch spongebob together, and words cannot describe how much I miss that. She is the most important thing to me, she helped me grow. I'm almost an adult now, and its all thanks to her and the things I grew up with. The point is, as I'm falling apart mentally in this world, old Spongebob is there for me, always keeping me going, no matter how many times the world punches me in the face.

One of the biggest problems I have with the recent episodes is this: Old Spongebob made it VERY clear that Bikini Bottom was near Hawaii or somewhere else tropical. Now, they only use this music because it's iconic. Now, it just feels like a weirder Atlantis. I hate it. I miss this. The blissfulness.

Spongebob has such a cathartic feel to it's music. I've lived in a bustling city for all my life, not seeing beautiful beaches but rather a bunch of street signs and cars. I feel like I need to be outside of this, somewhere in Hawaii getting a nice tan and drinking tropical flavors while i rest in my hammock. It's one of the dreams I still hang on to. spongebob is the kid in all of us trying to be an adult and do this thing called life hes funny naive positive and always ready to give things a shot. the episodes where he is super depressed or sick is the most heartwrenching episodes to watch because hes not being his usual cheery self that u came to watch and when hes all better hes back to being funny and helpful and positive in a second and it changes the show again for the better he was just this wild happy sponge
