In real life, Robert Englund (Freddy) is one of the nicest people you could ever meet. And he's really good to his fans. Especially if you know his other roles such as when he starred in Phantom of the Opera. Or played an alien in V - The Series..

Fun fact about the movie is that Glen Nancy's boyfriend was going to be played by different actor but Wes craven had his two younger daughters there who told him to put Johnny Depp in because he was the hot one according to them😅 also they snuck a kitten into the set and that's what gave was craving the idea of claws instead of the usual knife or machete like other slashers

29:15 "Oh...It's time to move" I laughed too loud at that. You and your pups always have fun reactions. I heard how they filmed the Johnny Depp death scene with the blood fountain. The entire bedroom set was set upside-down, the camera was set upside-down, and the "blood" was poured down through the hole in the bed and down onto the floor/"up into the ceiling". That allowed for the blood to spread outward across the ceiling. Then it was played back in a slightly slower speed. Cool practical effect.

Actually I heard they used the same room set up that was used for the scene in Breakin' when the guy dances up the walls and on the ceiling. On one shot they used too much fake blood and they lost control of the spinning room.
@christinegelabert1651
@christinegelabert1651 Жыл бұрын
@Snap Rowsdower YES! That's the truth! That's exactly how they film people who are crawling up walls or being thrown around on walls like in Poltergeist and other movies. They film them while they're actually crawling normally and rolling around and then they flip the image. I learned that from a friend of mine. He was an independent filmmaker and graduated from the Film Academy school in NYC. Also another thing that people don't realize. Remember years ago you used to get the choice of widescreen or not. I mean you can still get it now and people think it's much better for you to watch. But about 90% of movies are actually shot in widescreen. That's why it says the movie ARE formatted TO fit your screen. Another thing that I can't remember the amount of screen image but your eyes can actually only perceive a certain amount like when it comes to big screens. But he was like I don't know why people buy these big massive TVs because honestly it's a waste of money because your eyes can only perceive of a certain amount.

You are absolutely my favorite reactor. So a few tidbits from a slasher fan who grew up with these movies. The nightmare franchise was the last of the slasher trifecta. Halloween was first then shortly after Friday the 13th then these. Up until recently the nightmare series was the most successful but that's changed. The big difference with freddie was he was smart. Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhees were just killing machines, np big thought processes going on. Freddy was smart therefore he got dialogue where the others didn't. Much more campy in thr nightmare series. My favorite was Wes Cravens new nightmare. Very interesting plot twist. Out of all 3 slasher franchises only one still stands making movies. Halloween. Which is now the most lucrative of all 3 as its still airing..

Great reaction! As always. Hey JL. If you are a fan of Wes Craven's work, you should definitely check out the criminally underrated gem: "The People Under The Stairs" , and "The Serpent and the Rainbow" Haunting stuff in those flicks. And if you ever get into an Eddie Murphy vibe, Wes Craven directed him in "Vampire in Brooklyn" A bit cheesy... but a guilty pleasure to watch... maybe its cause of the gorgeous Angelica Bassett. Keep up the great reactions!

Al though, Glen never mentioned Freddy by name there are a few scenes in the movie that seems to strongly imply that he had a nightmare about him. In the movie at the 5:30 mark, Glen says something about a nightmare and at 7:36 mark, he looks right at Nancy and Tina with a look of shock or surprise just as Nancy was talking about Freddy’s red and green sweater. Lastly, at the 54:14 mark he tells Nancy, “Whenever I get nervous I eat.” Nancy says: “And if you can’t do that, you sleep.” Glen: “I use to. Not anymore.” EOM, Thanks for your review. This is one of my favorite horror movies. I am a big Wes Craven fan. I’m still sad that he passed. The horror community just isn’t the same without him. Here are a couple of other movies by Wes I think you might enjoy: “Red Eye” (2005), “The People Under The Stairs” (1991), and “Deadly Friend” (1986), “The Last House on the Left” (1972) and it was remade in 2009. Personally, I thought the 2009 remake was a lot better than the original. The original “The Last House on the Left (1972) is very gritty and not for the faint hearted. Plus, The KZbin Nazis might have an issue with the original movie. I just found your channel and I will be checking out more videos. Your dog is adorable.

There was only meant to be the first Nightmare On Elm Street movie. Wes Craven didn't intend for sequels to happen. This movie was all Nancy's dream which explains why her disconnected phone was ringing while she was 'awake'. The whole Freddy character was just a figment of her nightmare so in reality, Nancy's parents never lynched a child killer and Rod, Tina and Glen are all still alive

One, two, Freddy's coming for you. Three, four, better lock your door. Five, six, grab your crucifix. Seven, eight, gonna stay up late. Nine, ten, never sleep again. Fun Fact: One of the main reasons Johnny Depp was chosen was because Wes Craven's daughter thought he was "dreamy" and that was why this is the feature film debut of Johnny Depp. Bonus Fact: The scene where Freddy is set on fire, chases Nancy to the top of the stairs, falls back down, and starts back up again, was all shot in one take, with several cameras, and was the most elaborate fire scene ever filmed up to that time. Stuntman Anthony Cecere won best stunt of the year for the scene. Bonus Fact: All of the boiler room footage in the film was shot in the basement of the Lincoln Heights Jail in Los Angeles, which was condemned shortly after production wrapped, due to high levels of asbestos.

There’s a chiastic pattern (accidental?) in the series. The seventh one is reminiscent of the first. The second and sixth are different from the rest and weren’t received well by the fans. The middle three have the word “dream” in their titles, give backstory to Freddy, and are like a trilogy.

When my sister first watched Nightmare On Elm Street, she had the same reactions, 'WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!' 😆 But they're not actually doing that stuff, it's all in their dreams. When I do remember my dreams, it usually involves me doing dumb or dangerous stuff that I'd never really do. Especially once crazy stuff starts happening. When we're dreaming, it's a different part of the brain that makes the decision to follow a voice calling your name, to find out what's going on, rather than just peace out, like our conscious mind would tell us to do.

Lol when I remember my dreams it’s as random as it gets. One me and everybody I ever met had a huge paintball war in a city, another one I was the dude behind the scenes master minding who was going to be the next Ghostface, I had one that somebody kept bringing me eggs 🤣🤣🤣

It is crucial that you watch, The Thing with Kurt Russell and Keith David, The Shining with Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall, Mask with Cher and Eric Stoltz, Arthur with Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli, and Best in Show with Christopher Guest and Parker Posey
@EOMReacts
@EOMReacts 2 жыл бұрын
The Shining is actually coming up on YT in a couple of weeks (2-3 I think), The Thing is 100% coming near Halloween, and Best in Show is (I believe) about 4-5 weeks away on the rough schedule. I just found out 2-3 days ago he hadn’t seen it when we were talking about him only seeing 2-3 Catherine O’Hara movies. Pretty sure Mask and Arthur are on the master list, but if not, I’ll add them. Both are totally deserving.

So something that was never touched on until Freddy Vs Jason, at least I think it’s been a while since I’ve seen all the Nightmares. But Freddy’s powers come from the fear, the more kids that are afraid of him the more powerful he becomes. But in the end of this film, Nancy admitting she is no longer afraid of him took his power away because all of the kids that feared him were killed early in the movie.

You might try the movie "Pumpkinhead", the first one only. There are more but the second one is terrible and each of the others is worse. As for this movie, the Depp kill effect almost killed people on the set. They had used a rotating set, a room built insode a giant wheel with a fixed camera, for the Tina up the wall effect. Everything in the room was firmly in place so when the wheel turned, it would look like Tina was going up the wall when really she was sliding on the "floor" as the room rotated. They used this setup for the blood spray and pooling on the ceiling effect. However, something failed and the "blood" spilled out all over the floor of the set. That floor was covered with electrical cables and connections. Fortunately no one was hurt.

If you like Wes Craven you gotta watch some movies by the other master of horror, John Carpenter! I personally prefer Carpenter to Craven, but to each their own. Recommendations, if you haven't seen any of these, a couple aren't horror films but are worth mentioning: HALLOWEEN, THEY LIVE, THE THING(my personal favorite horror film of all time), ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, and BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. My favorite Freddy film is probably part 3. Keep up the good work and give them dogs an extra belly rub for me.
