I was camping out in Robson park last may, in the middle of the night my van was shaking almost comically, I was afraid it was a bear or kids playing a joke on me. I slid open the door and there was an Elk the size of a house rubbing its butt on the back of my van!

Oh man, memories. Hey, next time in Calgary, go out to Bragg Creek and then follow up the Elbow River to my mountains. Ford Creek was my best place, hard to believe we would go days without seeing another person and Calgary only 40 miles away. Love your camera work. Carry on. Might want to buy a lithium battery car booster. Good insurance for 100 bucks. Cheers from Yukon

As a local I prefer Kananaskis and Waterton over Banff which has way to many tourists. You should be able to pick up one of those lithium jump packs for fairly cheap this time of year. I picked up ine of the Noco ones at Princess auto for cheap a few weeks ago. There's nothing worse than a dead battery.

We can agree with that! Loved visiting Waterton a few years ago, one of our favourite spots. Great idea, definitely going to pick one up! Not worth the risk. Cheers!

yeah.... but running a fridge off your van battery is a seriously bad move. unless its running. and in that case, carry a jump pack around with you. what if there was nobody around? also, with newer vehicles, yes it can totally mess with the PCM if you jump start vehicles. it sends way too much voltage into the system

Its plugged in when its running but we do keep it plugged in sometimes when its not.. never been an issue for months, still only killed the battery this one time, regardless it will be getting a new power source haha. and yes, that is definitely what he was concerned about so I understand his concern. It was just his way of approaching the situation that took me back a bit 😅
