I've spent a lot of time studying the Bible and it can be incredibly complex but at the same time, God also made the key points as simple as possible as you said. Salvation is simply by having faith in Christ by God's grace, and the commandments to live a good life are to love God/Christ and your people/neighbors! The rest is still good and important but I think people overcomplicate and forget the basics you've mentioned. God bless.

Just to add on to your Mark 12:29 conversation (because I just love when there's talks about God happen) as stated "we are to love God first then to love man" because God not only expresses love. It's literally who He is, He's literally the embodiment of the word and if we want to love others well then we have to experience real love (through relationship with God). Additionally, Jesus summing up the entire Torah in just those two commands just goes to show that everything that we do should stem from a place of love, whether that be having hard conversations with someone, helping in a time of need, fighting for justice, etc. Be encouraged and ride safe! ❤
