First of all... thank you SO much for NOT having annoying background music. For me, that's so distracting. I love music, but not while I'm listening to instructions. The volume is always too loud or too low and I can always play background music here, if I so choose. Your voice is so soothing and calming and I love the quiet space in between, as well. And thanks for the info on how the comments, liking and clicking on the links works. Interesting. For me, your videos are pretty much perfect. Love the intro, editing, length. You don't try to be funny, but you say very funny things. Very impressed with your presentations. And the CONTENT!!! That's my favorite, but if all the other stuff doesn't work, the content is lost. To sum it all up, I'm a big fan!
@lorrimarie20027 жыл бұрын
to neva...a fan of mine! thank you soooooo much for your positive feedback...i truly appreciate it! i am so glad you are enjoying the videos...quiet times and all....we all need quiet...sometimes, right? i drag you right along with me in my process...when i am editing them i get a kick out of 'how i get a kick out of myself'....i so enjoy the way the art comes alive before my very eyes! i wish the videos were shorter for people...but when i heavily edit them....we lose too much content....so....there you have it! go create, go play, go have fun....and yes....see you on the table!

Hey Toots, I TOTALLY agree with everything Neva just said. Music is ok, but not necessary. Your voice and actions are so soothing, you simply don't need it. Everytime we tune you in, it feels like we are sitting down next to an "old" friend with our Mod Podge pot and cup o coffee. ;) I need to tell the world all about you!

This is so awesome. I am really going to have to stop just watching and get busy and find a book to play in. I have tons of books, just need to choose one to work in. I guess I will also finally have to break down and buy some gesso. I like the fact that you don't have background music. Too many people have music that is not to my taste and then it makes it difficult to watch their videos. Thanks for taking the time to show us step by step how to do a certain technique. I appreciate the effort it takes to do that.

I found your altered book videos last night and have absolutely fallen in love with them... and you! I’ve started an altered book but am having some difficulty finding interesting “focal points” and really don’t want to print them out because that just seems a little lame. Thanks so much, keep up the amazing content :)

Looking forward to starting an altered book and have a few questions. Do you do the front and back covers first? I don’t know where to start. Doesn’t ripping out from the center of ea. Signature weaken the book? I’m doing that and the threads are getting loose. Looking forward to more of you, I’m addicted. Anybody tell you you look like Annette Benning? You are a terrific teacher! Hi, Lorri-Marie! TFS!!!!!! This was terrific!!!! Two questions/comments: 1). I would feel that you were safer if you rested your project on a self-healing cutting mat when you are using a blade. 😎 2). I am thinking of trying to alter a book by taking a baby step, literally: by using a child’s board book as the base. Have you ever done this? My concern is the slick coating on the original pages. The top picture layer is hard to remove quickly/efficiently. I have laid down a layer of gesso on top of the slick surface. I hope this will provide enough secure traction/key for the subsequent layers to adhere to. Advice welcome! Your videos are great! Your calm voice and clear instructions remind me of another favorite KZbinr: Ginger Ropp (My Sister’s Scrapper). Her tutorials led me to successful papercrafting mini-albums and tags. Following yours is the next step for me. Thanks, and also I’m jealous that you live in the SF area.

I love your perfectly imperfect intuitive approach to your art as it's right up my alley. I have been watching pretty much all of your videos and love your presentation. I am a UTube creator as well. Quick question. What magazines would you recommend for someone wanting yummy ephemera?
@lorrimarie20027 жыл бұрын
depends on what you are looking for...of course...i love 'the darker side' so i go for USED magazines at library sales of half off book stores...never pay full price....ouch! juxtapoz, haute dolls, hi-fructouse...a bit edgy but i love them! any art magazine that you can put your hands on will have something interesting....thanks for staying connected! see you on the table!

I find National Geographics have great backgrounds...lots of color photos and also text. I had some old Nat Geos and found some very striking backgrounds...theu were microscopic images of tapeworms and other parasites but they were uber cool in a collage. LorriMarie can you tell me what number exacto knife that you use. I bought one I can't remember there's like a number one and a number 2 blade. But anyhow I noticed there were like four different exacto knives and I was wondering if you could tell me which one you're using in this video? I think the one I have is smaller than yours and I have to press down really hard I think I need a bigger and sharper blade...

Curious, why do you waste your underpants if you are just covering them up?
@lorrimarie20027 жыл бұрын
ooooooh...such a good question! like any good underpants....they are a great foundation for any 'outfit'...plus...they do peek through all the layers! you cannot see or feel their deliciousness on screen but the under layer of ephemera does make a big difference in the energy of the piece....as you can tell..i am quite passionate about this 'first' step of my pieces....lol! see you on the table!
