I'm happy that her and Ben are trying to work things out but was worth it. Maggie wasn't interested in her ex-boyfriend anymore and it was no cost for him to be that way towards her. Maggie didn't lie about the situation between him and her they've just had a daughter together that's all this was way before she met Ben and she made ex know loud and clear that she's not interested in him anymore and don't want any part his relationship with their daughter.

People don't often get like this by choice, many mental issues can be genetic or just come about from individual to individual, but not because of any life choices they may have made.

@@uggupuggu Let the psychologists recognize individuals who are, or are not derranged. In this case, the woman was clearly on edge, antsy and the doctor had not encountered a patient like her. The knife attack was extreme, yet coming from somebody on the spectrum physical contact can be extremely invasive. Or there are people who suffer abuse and react from that trauma out of instinct and habit. Learn the case forwards and backward, and watch for subtle clues; this woman gave off a lot of them, like requesting for somebody to be more serious and not physically touch her. Maggie picked-up on those cues, and was ready to act to deescalate the situation.

This shows the difference between new young Doctors and a seasoned experienced Nurse. He is going to be a good doctor with time and learn to observe better. And with Maggie by his and others to give wisdom and guidance.

The doctor is at fault, not the patient. First, the doctor missed the very clear signs, and then he chose to ignore an experienced WELL-qualified nurse. Besides those reasons; why would you slap "the crazy woman"? She's obviously suffering mental and emotional distress, AND had already said, "STOP", "I can do it myself", "You're smiling too much.", and you're hovering over me." Who's crazy...? Her, or the idiot who thought he knew more than the nurse and the patient?

@@johnwax9606 that's just it. You said "reasonable," the condition of the woman completely rules out what is considered reasonable to us vs reasonable to her. That's life and unfortuantely that's the reality with MANY mental illnesses, like if they weren't suffering from the mental condition they likely wouldn't have used or even had the razor. Sort of think like the mental illness is not same as the person, but the being you are seeing here is completely controlled by that mental illness

With some people who have past trauma, just about anything (like even a certain smell) can remind them of said traumatic event and then they think that they're back in said event so they'll go into an involuntary fight, flight, or freeze mode. With people with other mental illnesses, they don't fully know what they're doing.
