This video is my one year anniversary of making KZbin videos! I share my current artistic direction (drawing and painting animals), my art supplies (neocolor 2 crayons, gelatos, inktense pencils and watercolor) and what it means to me to be a youtube content creator. I even share how much money I’ve earned from youtube. Drumroll…don’t get excited, it’s not that much.
Thank you for clicking on this description! At the moment I uploaded this video, my subscriber count was 3384 people. It just keeps growing! :-) Thank you for watching my videos and leaving delightful comments; it makes youtube so much fun.
There are amazon affiliate links sprinkled around in here. These are items that I have found to bring joy to my life and I hope they do the same for you. If you click on the link and actually buy something (anything!) from amazon, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you - and that helps to support this channel.
All music is from the youtube audio library.

Books mentioned are:
Mark Hearld’s Workbook: amzn.to/47ZZPLp
Little Echo by Al Rodin: amzn.to/3Ncjb8p
---
What I used in this video:
Montval Canson watercolor paper, 90 lb, cold press: amzn.to/46iMr4U
Neocolor 2 crayons: amzn.to/3uFQla2
Gelatos: amzn.to/41892iP
----
Other mentions:
Emma Carlisle’s Patreon: www.patreon.com/emmacarlisle?...
Monkey Minkata: youtube.com/@monkeymintaka?si...
Creative Catchup Podcast: youtube.com/@creativecatchup?...
-----
What I use to film and edit my videos:
Small, flexible tripod with screw-on grippy attachment that holds my GoPro: amzn.to/3mEEGUU
Desk mount device that I use with the screw-on grippy attachment that came with my tripod - the desk mount (in combination with the grippy attachment) holds my GoPro 18-inches above my table: amzn.to/3L81XbK
Blue yeti microphone: amzn.to/3Fw1IE7
Lightning to USB Camera Adaptor - this is what I use to connect the blue yeti microphone to my ipad for voice over editing: amzn.to/3ZNxuUE
GoPro Hero10: amzn.to/3TFnvyU
It takes some getting used to, but for filming on hikes it is much better than using my iPhone.

Happy anniversary. Don't fret the early videos, they document progress the same way painting does. Each one shows development of skill level and refinement of technique. Keep on creating!

Thank you Peggy! Oh for SURE, I totally agree. Also, everything becomes easier as we go along, I think. The real challenge is keeping at it for the first year or so when the going is really tough. I always appreciate your kind words. :-)

Awwww! Thank you for your comment, Sue! I’ve been wanting to make a new video for SO LONG, but have been mired in caregiving. I hope (and anticipate) that things will ease up for me so I can fully engage again.

Hi Kendra, congrats on your anniversary. When I subscribed, I think you had 12 subscribers so you've come a long way, well deserved btw. I think you may be a little too critical on your first few videos as they are amongst my favourites and occasionally re visit them. So, keep posting and I'll keep looking forward to them. Take care.

Hi Keith! Happy New Year to you! Yes, you might have even been in the first 10 subscribers. :-) You don’t know just how encouraging your notes were for me last year. Thank you!

How nice to watch your KZbin channel. I suddenly thought... hey I met you during a live zoom from Emma Carlisle... you have a super nice channel and yes, the frogs are absolutely fantastic and you can certainly be proud of your KZbin channel. I experienced the exact same thing. I think I have been making KZbin videos for 2 years now. thanks for this openness and see you next time emma. Greetings.

I couldn't live without my pets. Currently 2 big dogs and 1 cat. But I've had as many as 4 dogs, 7 cats, 5 ducks, 7 chickens, 2 rabbits and a ferret - all at once. They bring the life to my house. They soothe me when I'm sad, they take care of me when I'm sick, they make me laugh and sometimes cry. I will never not have a pet. It isn't death that frightens me. It is aging and maybe having to live in a nursing home without a dog at my feet and a cat in my bed. Or, even worse, to have alzheimer's and forget how much I love the animals in my life. I didn't know there were people who would never have a pet because they think they are just something to take care of. They are so, so much more.
