Yesterday I txt a friend about this jeep I just traded for. Bunch of problems and Im no mechanic, he is. He told me to come down to his moms, a block away, he'd dropped the ball in inviting me over. I go over and it's a Bday party for his son. I couldn't help but feel a bit passed over. I mean, your son's bday and you invite even your coworker but not me? But in the afternoon I had a convo with him and his soon to be brother in law. The BIL comes to me after and says that he envisioned that very conversation a few years before. We bonded the rest of the afternoon like I never expected I would when I met him years before. So yes, things happen and they are unfortunate. But do not take a negative connotation, this only invites suffering. Things unfold as they do for a reason, the universe strives to bring us what we are looking for, but it will never do so in the way we would prefer. Best wishes, I hope these words find you doing well.

This song is the only one that can express my childhood. My mother was abused as a child. The cycle continued. It was the family friend. I finally told her and she just didn't deal with it or accept it. Here I am expecting just a little bit from the wounded. She was abused. To feel disappointed and passed over. She ignored it! Screaming you don't see me!!! This song is it for me. Thank you for helping me find a way to express my pain fully through your music. I see right through it all is when I look at her back story. I don't excuse it nor do I understand it. I am a happy mother to my beloved and we are doing great!!! I am nothing like what I went through. I survived it!! For that I am thankful 🙏

I know the feeling. I met the love of my life when I was 11- I'm 22 now. I knew the moment I met her. I hope you've found a way through this and that you've met someone else to light your chest on fire in the best way possible. Don't do what I have- don't spend your life waiting for them to come back. I'm now the godparent to a child I wish more than anything could have been mine. Im an unbreakable part of her life and while I'd do it again a thousand times, the pain that comes with it is unspeakable. You either have to save yourself or sacrifice everything to stay in any capacity they'll have you. Save yourself, man- do what I couldn't.

"You don't see me at all" that's so relatable for me 90% of the time. I go thru life seeing thru facades ppl create and I find most of the time that everyone is fake. NOONE seemingly "sees" anyone anymore because 'like I am right now,we are glued to our devices. I feel as if even my family doesn't really know me but music like this ironically makes it a lil more bearable

You're so right. I call it the blooming onion theory. As we grow up, we develop these layers of artificial nonsense and it gets to the point we forget who we are and our purpose here on this earth. In my early 20s, I went through a revival of sorts where I cut myself off from basically everyone and everything I knew. Spent 2 whole years in solitude peeling back those layers of crap until I found myself again. Looking back, I can say with absolute certainty that this time period saved my life. Had I kept on going like I was, Id be dead or in jail. The answer is always within us.

Maynard's voice brings warmth to me in this song..
@ginawhoever9734
@ginawhoever9734 9 жыл бұрын
+Ahmed Alqaisi (ATN) yes. like you can hear in his voice that he recognizes that he is dealing with a wounded person here, and that that's the main reason that they are hurting him...out of their own wounded ability to have or feel any real empathy. he almost seems to feel sympathy/hurt for *them* and not outright anger, though the same can not be said for the other person. this is how it becomes more of a sad/tragic thing much more than a "fuck you" kind of thing coming from Maynard's point of view. IMO that is the best way to deal with it, anger against anger never gets anyone anywhere but in a worse situation. but to be able to have sympathy, even for someone who is hurting you, is much more healthy and you heal much more quickly...

“Here I am expecting just a little bit / too much from the wounded” yeah, I felt that. Childhood friend-turned romantic interest is healing from her last relationship and I am so ready to say hey, I could be the guy he never was. The one that supports you, the one that never put your feelings down. But I’m just a friend. She won’t see me that way, and that’s okay. I just want her to heal. But man, I love her.

Molov Exactly. You wonder if you ever be able to connect with someone the same, even though they weren’t feeling the same way. I had to tell a girl just ten minutes ago that I could no longer speak to her because she didn’t think of me the same way I thought of her. I felt like I could spend the rest of my life with her. It sucks to lose a part of yourself like that, but it’s better than pining after something that will never be.

The instruments in this song are composed so well, it's very sad but yet comforting at the same time. With the lyrics added in the way that they were, just makes the song even more beautiful. My mom used to play this song in the car when I was like 2 and she just re-introduced it to me not too long ago and it's odd because the song sounds so fimiliar, like I've heard it all my life. I find it so strange that the last I heard it was at the age of 2, yet I can remember it so vividly like it was only yesterday when I first listened to the song. I get such strong feelings and emotions from this song that I can't even comprehend because of that reason.

I think this song is more helping a broken person who's worth helping, a fallen angel of tragedy, and saying it's hard to do so asking to much of the wounded, I can relate to that personally, but healing processes and self discovery, feeling emotions not felt before is a long process and many times I personally have felt very unnoticed when it comes to my progression with those types of people but must always remind myself to be patient, especially helping those you truly love get better. And remember to with caution and expertise in psychological understanding, use neutral advice that aids in self understanding, and self control, reminding my own self that it's them that saved themselves by trusting me, not me that saved them. But some days this song hits me hard. Remember severely damaged people may feel like this but it's up to the real ones to understand, there's many level to healing and it can become fucking lonely sometimes.

I feel it relates to being in a relationship with a person who suffers from borderline personality disorder knowing full well of the trauma they have endured but can't help but feel completely drained and don't know how much more they can take. I've been on the giving and receiving end of this scenario and this song defines it.

It relates to my relationship with my kids. I love them so much...so much. 2 different mothers who both took them to different states. I pay child support but can't afford to travel so i dont see them. I have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet. They now want nothing to do with me. I cant express how much i love them. My sons mom has him believing im a bad person. To have your child tell you to stay out of their life......i wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Yes! I also get a glimpse behind the eyes of someone that feels surrounded by sameness and inherently, but futilely desires more from existence. Someone suffering alone longingly and full of emptiness from embracing the tragedy of life while expecting to find meaning, purpose and maybe even salvation, in spite of the insignificant brevity of life.

Still listening in 2021 🖤🌹 Threw you the obvious And you flew with it on your back A name in your recollection Down among a million same Difficult not to feel a little bit Disappointed and passed over When I look right through To see you naked but oblivious And you don't see me But I threw you the obvious Just to see if there's more behind The eyes of a fallen angel Eyes of a tragedy Here I am expecting Just a little bit too much from the wounded but I see, see through it all See through, see you 'Cause I threw you the obvious to see what occurs behind the Eyes of a fallen angel Eyes of a tragedy Oh well, oh well Apparently nothing Apparently nothing at all You don't, you don't, you don't see me You don't, you don't, you don't see me You don't, you don't, you don't see me You don't, you don't, you don't see me You don't see me You don't, you don't You don't see me at all..

When they are all the same and pursue wearing different faces- slowly becoming invisible to you over time….you see nothing for years, having fallen emotionally unavailable and uncompelled by every rose thrown at you. You lose faith in love, until it seems to cross your path one day- a face you can finally see- but only, he sees you not….. Oh well.

Not knowing what the song was actually about it came in my shuffle as I was driving home from the hospital after my father had to be put into an induced coma because of lung problems. I didnt get to say goob bye while he was awake. Ill never forget hearing this and crying in the car. "You cant, you cant, see me" "o well" He was terminally ill and i didnt know. He died a few days later. This song will forever be attached to that memory for me. I cant keep it together when i listen to this, its too powerful.

I like revisiting apc and tool songs because at each new point in my life I find new meaning or some type of odd parallel to events I'm experiencing that never occurred to me before. That's the magic of profound artistry like this. It contains so many facets and perspectives that it can be anything you need it to be or connect to you on a unique level no one else may be able to sense. This song in particular could be a veritable theme song to what I'm dealing with now. I'm making my feelings obvious but perhaps expecting too much from the wounded... She doesn't see me.

The love of my life, I never told her how much she meant to me, She hates me, will not talk to me. April of 2009 is the last time we talked. I still think about her. I still crave her. I am treated as if I am dead, which hurts more than I can conjure into words. This moment I am thinking about her. Does she think about me? Does she dream about me like I do her? Will she ever realize destiny binds us together? Or will I live with the pain alone forever?
