Maynard's words have gotten me through some really tough times and have helped keep me alive. The show in Toronto was on Wednesday, and unfortunately we weren't able to go. My friend's grandmother was moved to palliative care that morning & wasn't expected to last the day, and she was my ride. I did manage to sell my tickets though, to a very excited University student who hadn't seen them live yet, so I made someone's day awesome & that's good enough for me. I've been fortunate to have seen Maynard in all his various forms, including the book tour, 5 times in the last 6 years, & I was in Arizona/Jerome in 2013 & drank his wine, so I couldn't be be too disappointed. Everything for a reason. And there's always the next Tool tour when the new album comes out :D I'm glad you had a great time. Maynard truly is a gift. Did they do Gravity? I'm waiting for someone to post one of the shows here on KZbin.

Yeah sorry to all the haters, but the truth is that Maynard doesn't do this song justice live. He barely stays in keys and sings flat. I love seeing Maynard perform, but I don't remember Gravity sounding this bad when he did it in Louisville Ky in 2003.

I think the real test is if a person who is unfamiliar with maynard would listen to this and think he had a nice voice. If you listen just for a few minutes it seems boring. Maynard's voice is an acquired taste. Although I think it's an easily acquired taste if you take a little time

I agree, its a pretty decent performance of a damn a good song. but this isn't perfect on Maynard's behalf, he hits a fair few off notes and at points its kind of painful i.e. 4:08 and 4:12. By all means I'm not saying I could do any better I think he's a fantastic vocalist and is normally spot on with pitch.. just a couple of slip-ups here and overall not his best performance.
