At their foundation they're about the much deeper and darker, potentially sadistic desires we have as humans, and especially as men. During some of my darkest days, these songs have allowed me to fall into the abyss of my self loathing hole I've dug myself into. Deep enough so I can see myself falling, allowing me to REALLY look at the hole and crawl out.

Maynard is a good example of maintaining vocals at an older age. People at similar ages seem to be losing range and he maintains most of his power and range.

Nope. Originally it was Troy Van Leeuwen on second guitar and Paz on bass, but this is 3/5 of the original lineup.
