I didn't know about the Saint Nicholas German tradition! I live in a city in Greece and 6th September is a bank holiday, because Saint Nicholas is the Saint who ''protects'' the city! It's so interesting to learn about various traditions with common roots!

In Bulgaria on 6th December is St. Nikolas day too ( Sveti Nikolai), people named after the saint celebrate their name day (Nikola, Nikolai, Nikoleta etc) . He is patron of the fishermen as well, so everyone bakes and eats fish. Last day being allowed to eat fish before Christmas. I think I prefer your tradition 🍫🍬🍫😄😄

I have to tell you when I watched the first episode of Peaky Blinders I was so blindsided by the language and violence I thought I’d never watch it again. Yes, well, I could not stop going back to watch the next and then the NEXT episode-and I DID fall in love with the characters-just as you said! It was lovely to visit this site with you. I’m grateful to be out and about with you a bit! I FINALLY got out to visit a local beach (an old haunt of mine-it was nearly empty-beautiful weather, it was such a joy to smell the salt air for the first time since January)! I am rarely attracted to programming that had gratuitous violence, and no real plot, but I have to say Peaky Blinders showed what I felt was an element of reality and I think many could relate to that.

We don't have San Nicolás in Spain but I've heard of it. Funny though that we leave shoes too out for Reyes Magos ( the 3 Kings or Wise men) they come on the night of the 5th to the 6th of January. The shoesmust be clean and left in the window and the Kings leave presents in them, that we open on the 6th. On the 5th we have parades all over the country, the Kings arrive on their camels with their helpers carrying all the presents and throwing sweets. Kids love it. We all do really. If you've been naughty you get sweet coal 😂😂. Great video as usual. Lovely advent calendar. Take care. Lots of love XXX

Gruß aus Nürnberg (leider leider ohne Christkindlesmarkt, da fehlt schon was)

Concerning St Niklaus, it is the same in Alsace! He comes at home with his book and asks if my kids were good and they usually stay YES but because of Covid he dis ont come in person I Said To my son tant St Nicolas is ill and that he have his present To his aunties ! He was delighted as you know my son Marc has Down Syndrome and we were afraid that he might not understand why St Nicolas was not able to come at home. His reaction was great! We were really amazed and happy ! We bought a ton of Manala because he just loves them! There are a lot of different sorts of Manala (chocolate chips, all chocolate, with sugar, etc...) He prefers the plain ones. All is Well that ends Well! Bisous from Alsace ! Night night Liebe Kirsten und Joerg ! 🤗😘🎁
