Absolutely loved #LoveNextDoor from the performances to the writing. I loved how the writers played around with the typical K Drama format, keeping the traditional friends to lovers trope feel fresh. We all expected the exes to be toxic and they weren't, we all expected Seung Hyo to be seriously injured in the accident and it was just a sprain, we all expected Meom and Dan Ho to have a serious issue about seperating for a year and they resolved it easily like adults do in the real world. This really felt like a grown up Rom Com for adults. Most of all I loved that the ending wasn't the typical wedding montage with flash forward 5yrs and they have kids (sorry boring, seen a thousand times over in C Dramas and K Drama's - seriously 8 years of watching them and I give a silent scream everytime they do it) Marriage and kids isn't the end of the love story, it's the beginning, and this series showed that, from the parents to the lead couple arguing and making up as they walk in to the "metaphorical" sunset. ❤❤❤❤

Totally agree. I think the open ended finale leaves room for season 2 as well! I loved that there were no sinister characters. Never seen one where even the exes were just as nice as everyone else. Such a healing and happy series. Not to mention Haein is just eye candy with a cherry on top! 😅

I have to believe the badminton scene with Jo Hanchul's character is a reference to the coach role he played in a stellar show called LOVE ALL PLAY from a couple years ago.

If you haven't seen them I recommend watching "Something in the Rain" "One Spring Night" "Forecasting for Love and Weather", "Welcome to Sandal-Ri" and "Love to Hate You".

I managed to hold out till ep 7 then I had to watch. Waiting weekly was sooo frustrating. Well done for lasting the whole series. Highly recommend. It's definitely in my top 10 of K Drama's of all time. I don't say that lightly.

I've Gotta Admit, I'm a big fan of Jung Hae-in. And I have seen and like most of the actors in the series. But the way they Had Hae-in portray his character was disappointing. His character was a complete Soy-boy. Completely subservient to his girlfriend's desires. He ALWAY went along with her decisions. Never really pushed back like a normal man would. I've enjoyed his work in the past precisely because he never played that Soy Boy type. Plus I disliked the girl's decision to put off marriage. How selfish. And the whole last minute "I'm going to Antarctica" plot twist was contrived and unnecessary. And both dads were complete wimps that let themselves be abused by their wives. I hate it that I can only give this series a 6/10.

I disagree with you is girlfriend is not selfish the only reason why she did that is because their relationship is new they just started dating and it's not good to rush into marriage if you don't know anything about the person you're with I love the ending of the series not all k-dramas end with them having a big wedding or happy ending it's real life it's very realistic and I love the show

@@casandraogoe8394 Except they have known each other and been best friends their entire lives. They didn't just meet. Jung Somin's characters doesn't even ask she just makes a unilateral decision. As far as being realistic I guess all Koreans must be raging alcoholics. Jung Hae In's character get's falling down drunk in public at least twice, and the two fathers get bat sh*t drunk every chance they get. The one father is supposed to be an accomplished surgeon. I doubt many responsible surgeons would put their careers or the life of their patients in jeopardy by constantly being hung over. I liked the show overall but I honestly can't say the writing was that good. I felt like the show creators couldn't decide whether this was a serious drama or a straight up comedy. And I can't pretend that this is an example of Jung Hae In's best work. And he is my favorite Korean actor.
