Even if it contains relics of St Martial, it is the basilica of St Michel-des-lions. St Martial of Limoges was an abbey which was destroyed in 1794 of which only the crypt remains.

Sir Lancelot says, " These people sure know how to eat, and think I will stick with them, for sure!" He watches everything going on Just love how docile and kind John is and all the dishes he purchased. Wow! But then again, many people come to his Chateau, and some are living there too, and so he needs to make sure they have plenty of beautiful sets of dishes for all. The 'presentation; says alot to say about the meal itself. This is very true! A fun shopping trip with you all, enjoyed it all! Such lovely places to shop, and so much to do, Titianna really also enjoyed the whole time with the shopping trip, She is such a very nice lady! Loved the way Davey would rather work in the rain then go antiquing. LOL

Such a fun episode and it brought back so many memories from my working years in Limoges. not sure about France, but in Germany you traditionally don‘t set them up until Christmas Eve. You have all the other decorations out before, but not the tree. Many people are doing it much earlier nowadays, but it‘s still not uncommon to wait until the 24th. I seem to remember at Lalande they were usually setting them up throughout the season, but not overly early.

@@TheChateauDiaries Re: comment about the Yew shrubs Definitely, not a wise choice in the garden, or on any property for that matter. "How poisonous is yew to humans? Analysis of yew wood | Kew Taxus baccata (European yew) is a well known poisonous plant. Eating a relatively small quantity of leaves can be fatal for livestock and humans. The toxicity of yew leaves is due to the presence of alkaloids known as taxines, of which taxine B is suspected as being one of the most poisonous. Is it OK to touch yew? All parts of the yew plant are toxic except the fleshy part of the aril (the fruit of the yew that looks like a berry) that surrounds the seed. Is yew toxic to pets? The yew plant is toxic to all species. Signs and symptoms of toxicity: Death often occurs immediately. Decreased and/or abnormal heart rate, seizures, involuntary muscle tremors, aggressive behavior and difficulty breathing may be seen with subacute poisoning. Can I have a dog with a yew tree? Yew is a common evergreen shrub used in landscaping that is extremely poisonous to all species. This includes dogs, cats, horses, cattle, birds, and humans. According to Pet Poison Helpline, all parts of the plant are very poisonous, including the succulent red berries, as they contain taxines. What happens if you eat a yew berry? While the entire yew hedge or tree is considered to be poisonous, the berries and more specifically, the seeds of the plant are recorded to contain the highest concentration levels of taxine. Initial symptoms of yew poisoning can include: nausea and vomiting. dizziness."

The US is a huge country and you can't make such sweeping proclamations about the whole country based on whatever small corner you live in. Google "Best US Christmas markets" and you'll see that there are indeed many, as this country had a huge European immigrant population that brought their customs here, but yes,, you may have to travel to find them. As for Farmers Markets, most all large urban centers that are near any farmland have many to choose from throughout the week. Here in Southern California, you can find them almost every day of the week in different parts of the city.
