I’d remain a little cautious as the the current Amp ratings for the US version is extremely low. Like 2 amps! However the relays are rated at 10 so there must be other reasons like trace route issues for the lowball rate. I’m Not sure about the EU version as Mark didn’t seem to mention it in his review. But it’s something that should be noted for those planning on utilizing the (non UL listed) switch’s on a 15 amp breaker. $70 is an expensive fuse.
@philharris96313 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisS-oo6fl Ultimately the fuses / breakers are there to protect the cabling in the walls not the devices that are connected to them, however 2amps @ 240v (UK) is still almost 500w which is a hell of a lighting load given that regular tungsten incandescent bulbs were outlawed years ago in the EU (you can still get Halogen bulbs though) and ultimately the world has also been forced over to LED (whether you like it or not) which makes it harder still to hit 2amps on a single load. Also in the UK lighting circuits are fused at 6amps (no idea what the rules are in the EU / US) so a 2amp max for a single lighting feed is fine - and you never know, they may even have fitted fuses in the high current side. :-)
@MatSmithLondon3 жыл бұрын
It's a decent product with an unclear application / target market. It is marketed as a scene controller, yet it has 2x relays. Presumably with lighting scenes you have multiple light circuits, usually with dimmers etc. and you want to control them from a panel. So you can select scenes from the touchscreen, but you can turn only 2x individual lights on and off from the physical buttons? Poorly thought out. Either make a scene controller, in which case power over ethernet is sufficient, ditch the relays, and allow the physical buttons to somehow enhance the scene selection, or make a dual relay light switch in which case the screen is not hugely necessary. The screen relies on Ewelink service which is cloud based, so you may as well just control this from your phone.

I love this device, its the one thing i've bought that saved me $70 because even after properly wiring this up it just sits there as active as a box of rocks. I know i could use a smart phone but i was just in the mood to trick out my apartment since home ownership in 2023 and beyond is a mere a pipe dream, meaning if you think you can afford to buy a home as a single middle class wage earner you are sadly mistaken 😢 either that or you own a Crack pipe.

Im betting as soon as its in more hands it will be Tasmota-ified 😁. I think the guys over at espthings have already got it in ESPHome and are working on getting the screen to work now.

Nice vid! Wouldn't want it on my wall though.. At least... Not yet. And what you said about the LUX sensor. I think it should be the other way around. When it's dark you don't want to be blinded by the screen and when it's light, the screen should be brighter to be visible due to reflections. I'll keep an eye on this thing but also will be looking for a nice (affordable) replacement for my Toon thermostat.

The WT32-SC01 with openHasp is also a good panel for HomeAssistant . Now let’s see if the OpenHasp firmware is working with this hardware. What I like with the sonnoff is the case and the power built in
@openhasp3 жыл бұрын
On the NSpanel the ESP32 talks to the Nextion Discovery display using serial communications. There is another chip with proprietary Nextion firmware on the ribbon cable that does the actual drawing. openHASP needs direct access from the ESP32 to the display and it seems this hardware design will not support that...

What options you have if your room has a ceiling fan/light combo....can those be hooked up to the physical switches?
@MarkWattTech3 жыл бұрын
there's two relays if they are on separate switches. Or you could link them to a smart relay and use the NSPanel to toggle that on and off.

@@MarkWattTechcan you use the physi cal buttons to controll scenes without connecting any lights to it. I have a wifi smart light that needs power all the time but would want to keep a physical button. And the screen looks nice to control everything else aswell.
@MarkWattTech3 ай бұрын
@@hidde8232you can indeed. With the terminal not connected, the physical buttons are still shown in Home Assistant (via the sonoff lan integration, esphome etc etc). You can press and use the buttons as triggers for scenes, scripts and automations as you would expect :)

@@MarkWattTech thats really nice, but is that only is possible with HA or also with google smart home or their own app. I want to keep the wifi stuff in my own room seperate from HA because cloud etc etc. But i could also just integrate everything from my google home if i have to use HA right? Like the lenovo smart clock and tuya lights.
