I used to fish Loch Lomond quite a lot in the late 80s. Loved it. I was supposed to be pike fishing but often spent most of the day fishing for roach or dace. The roach in there are like a different species. The blue colour of their backs was amazing compared to our insipid slimy creatures.

Wonderful footage and while I couldn't understand a word the older guy said 😅 it was still very entertaining. For me a big 1lb plus large & wild water roach like the one caught is the equal of any 2lb+ fish that has grown big on carp bait. I hope to see more of the same.

It's only £3.50 or there abouts for 24hrs. Luss car park takes the piss at nearly a tenner for 8 hrs.

Love your stuff guys, but if that rig snaps off above the loop, the feeder will be trapped in the loop and is lethal, ending with a fish being tethered.

I think this is a risk with any 'bolt' style rig, used for smaller species such as Roach. I understand the importance of 'safe' style rigs when fishing for larger species such as Carp or Pike, but there really is very little chance of the line breaking above the loop when catching Roach. In this case I don't believe the risk outweighs the effectiveness of the rig. Surely a Heli style rig, which is a widely accepted method, carries the same risk, albeit, very minimal.
