I'm in NJ and have an '08 CVPI as well. Picked it up a 'bout 1 1/2 years ago w/ 130K and 4k idle. Has a split bench seat. Very comfy. Was not looking to be a CVPI guy. Needed an extra car and this is great for that. It was an unmarked car, brown w/ full hub caps I think the white car w/ the center caps on the wheels lends to that cop car aura. I don't see too much hesitation from other drivers when I'm out and 'bout. I quickly learned why people like these cars and plan on keeping this as long as possible.

Great video man, really liked your interesting perspectives about the car. I totally get what you mean about looking like a cop lol here where I live LAPD and sheriff Dept still use Crown Vics so people definitely think I might be one when I drive around in my '11 SAP but mine has the civilian look with antennas

Yeah they're awesome man, got my 03 cvpi a few months back and its been great. Wanted one for multiple years, got it for $4k at a retired police car shop here in cali. 112k miles, brand new dark blue paint, freshly rebuilt trans, zero rust because its cali. All ive done so far is magnaflow flow fx mufflers and a k&n drop in filter, sounds SO clean. Plan is to lower it a few inches, limo tint, rims, and a nice sound system

Makes me sad the newest ones now are nearly 14 years old. Time flies. But tbh, in most areas, nobody gets nervous about a crown vic anymore, especially in the rust belt where the cars have long been retired due to rust etc. I just sold mine back in the summer, I'll forever miss it and loved driving it but going from 17 to 18 MPG average + rust to 40MPG on my Fusion Hybrid/Plug in and no rust I'm not complaining, especially when gas is over $6/gal here in Canada, NS 99% of the time. Drove vics for 10 years, so I definitely had my enjoyment from them but it was time.

Indeed it is sad. However at least here in the NY Metropolitan area we still have some hanging around. I'll usually see one every week or two which is always nice. The gas mileage I completely understand, at some point you've got to start thinking practically. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching

@@TheCesspool_ For sure they've definitely become more of a fun/enthusiast car than an economical daily (unless you live in an area where gas is consistently under $3/gal obviously or don't drive far at all). With age comes more repairs, etc. I'm just glad I got to have driven them for 10 years or so, don't regret it that's for sure.

I've had a 1994, 2005, and two 2008s simultaneously because I accidentally won it at auction and had to sell one. I have no complaints about any of them.

I've got a 98 grand marquis and I'm interested in seeing if I could do some part swaps from an interceptor to boost it's performance while maintaining that Mercury luxury. I can attest to a lot of the things you said here applying to my car aswell since they are mostly the same just with some discrepancies due to model and year.

You should be able to honestly it's really a matter of making sure that the PI parts you get match the correct year since I know under the hood they did tinker around as the years progressed. If anything you could even look into SN95 mustang components.
