As a single 27 yr old lady, i love her advice so much and it has helped me reemphasise what i have been learning about life and myself in general. These are the kind of content we need. Personally, i have drifted away from the "acting" contents (how to be this and that...clean girl aesthetic, boss lady aesthetic, kept girl and etc). It feels like everyone want to be, look and dress the same(no sense of personalities anymore). I love that she also mention the need to know yourself before anything else. This will help select the kind of people you would consider giving your energy and time to. Thank you for sharing Aunt Fumi and Ronke. God bless you all.

I passed on to my kids that are between the ages 26 a 41 that what is important to you in a mate is different every year as you grow. So what is important at 22 will not be important to you at 25 and what is important to you at 25 won’t be important to you at 28. Take your time and enjoy life while finding out what really is your must haves in a mate. I know as I have been married almost 40 years to my best friend. We don’t always agree or like each other but the love and respect never have changed.

This was such a good statistic you shared regarding how people are communing when it comes to dating, as the times are changing. I always appreciate your insights sister Fumi, it comes from wisdom and understanding as you stated. Interesting how online has overtaken the lead EXPONENTIALLY when it comes to how people are finding each other on a partnership level. Online exposure and networks definitely extends the reach and increases reach and overall opportunity. I'm learning to have an expansive mindset through understanding that traditional approaches in finding a good candidate pool for dating will only continue to change with the advent of social technological advancements. I'm not an online person, but I think you sharing that statistic is going to motivate me to be open to new approaches, while being strategic and discerning along the way. The times we are in are not the same times our parents were in. Time to let go of the discomfort and be open to new ways. Bless you sister/mother/aunty Fumi ALWAYS

@kemmyoluwo473212 күн бұрын
This is why at 37, my approach to marriage is this. I'm focusing on God an myself. If I guy comes great. If he doesn't God is still good. I'm not going to be waiting around all day or speak to a due everyday. Plus, God can still use you even when single. There's nothing wrong with you, as Jesus stated in one of his sermons when addressed about the issue of marriage - he compared to the eunuch. Our culture has idolised marriage so much that people have done it to please other people other than to please God. I even had to stress this to one dude right now that I'm not going to be speaking him all the time. Wisdom in this ladies, cos this is a very crucial decision. Our parents will not understand everything cos they certain things that they tolerate took that us now, WILL NOT AND NEVER TOLERATE. Men need to have mental stability, IN THEMSELVES. NO baby or woman will do that for them. Only themselves and God can. And if they don't want to, then leave them be. It's not our job as women to change or fix them.

Well we do eat and talk with friends and family at lunch etc all the time, however, there is a time and place and I actually agree this occasion was not appropriate as it became distracting, however, please see beyond that as the message itself is what's most important and she articulates it extremely well!😊 No one is perfect that's life... so just love!❤❤❤

Well... I'm not going to pretend I know what she's getting at really per her experience or situation because I find it a bit vague and theoretical or idealistic... IDK. But I suppose the bottom line is, go with and trust your own interest and agenda as it applies to YOUR life versus doing what you think others expect you to do.

Auntie Fumi! Thank you for introducing me to this young lady. I say young lady because I am 43 young 😉 ❤ Ronke is an example of why I don't follow others on bashing Gen Z or Alpha. I've seen plenty of examples of individuals in these respective generations being wiser, more mature, and more innovative than folks within my generation and the one behind it. 😂😂 Ronke proved that it is about each individual voice, not the entire audience. ❤ I give her flowers 🌹🌹🌹 and will check her out 😊🎉 I respect you as always, Auntie Fumi. Your class, poise, joy, and spirit are characteristics to edit oneself after. Appreciate your insight and food for thought ALWAYS! 🍎 The chart was absolutely intriging 😂 The shift in behavior over the year's was so interesting to watch 😮 😍

Funny that you stay with someone with 7 years and still confused.
@lkofie667012 күн бұрын
Admittedly, this is why I was genuinely trying to understand where she was coming from, but still couldn't quite gather what the actual issue was. Perhaps the light bulb moment in what she mentioned regarding being with someone for 7 years was the fact that since she'd spent all that time and her most youthful years with that one person, she wasn't about to start all over again looking for someone else. So contrary to whatever he was or wasn't, the end result must be marriage as far as she was concerned.So, she put all of her focus on the wrong thing. Maybe that's it (?).

YOU DON'T GROW FROM COMFORT ZONE
@elMARABIYOCHO198913 күн бұрын
A husband/wife should never be a random stranger. Marrying a stranger was her first mistake. You need to know who you are getting married to.
@shirleyvanarsdalecrabtree288013 күн бұрын
Not so much these days. People travel and also work internationally, nationally etc., and you can’t help who you fall in love with. This world is absolutely HUGE and is full of strangers, plus, you yourself are a stranger to someone else. Why limit yourself to just the people in your little village, especially when you’ve never had that much in common with anyone there enough to even consider marriage.
@babyjells13 күн бұрын
He wasn’t a stranger though- they dated for 7 years before marriage. But people can be in long term relationships and still not truly know the person that they’re with because folks are good and masking and pretending to be someone they’re not
@lkofie667012 күн бұрын
@babyjells Perhaps... except that's a mighty long time to be intimately involved with a person wearing a mask and not notice even a little something off (?). Could it be as she'd touched on, that she was not willing to let all that time be spent in vain, so really, she kept on going along, thinking what she DID recognize/those certain traits about him would change versus cutting her loses perhaps after even year 3 tops (?). I mean, in her case, maybe it can be chalked up to age and not really being fully in tuned with herself which in turn, caused her to continue settling for what she later realized in her older age that she actually wasn't able or willing to tolerate. She also came to realize that the traits are part of the person and won't change no matter what you bring forth so either you find a way to live with it and accept the person for who she/he is, or... understanding what is known now, let it go.
