Dslyecxi you are the reason I bought a joy stick, TrackIR 5, and a 27" monitor. You inspired me to learn to fly and I LOVE IT now!!! Thank you for all the videos, now you have me wanting to get some recording software to show off what I have learned from you. A quote from a previous post I made: "Hell I even have to refuel sometimes during matches, cause by the time an AA aircraft turns around to shoot me I have already landed and taken off heading back for another load. Imagine going 260 mph at 25-35 meters off the ground, we get within 300 meters of the LZ and I bank hard right or left and pull all the way back on the stick coming to an almost instant stop as I quickly drop to 3-5 meters in a non assisted hover, you hop out and I fly right back to the base to do it again... Im getting 200 xp per person which can easily net me over 1000xp per load, i'm getting 10-20k xp per round and never fire a single shot. I can get you from almost 300 mph to on the ground safe in 10-15 secs. Oh and thats in my beloved Hellcat" Now what i'm looking for is a great group to fly with like yours. I was accepted into the 15th MEU but still havent done my "basic training" yet with them. Im just afraid they might be a little too realistic and boring. I like to fly hard and fast, dropping as many men at the AO as possible and getting back for another load. Where do i belong in the MP world of Arma?

Ahh, right. So what I was talking about was basically the bleed stage then, even though I didn't mention leveling the heli at the same time. I just do that without really thinking about it at this point. Well, guess I wasn't totally wrong then. Thanks for making the practice mission btw. Enjoyed it a lot :)

I aspire to be a great pilot like you Dslyecxi. Sadly I've only now gained the subtlety to hover steadily whenever needed without auto hover. But I've only been practicing for about four days (In approximate fly time hours) and I never use auto hover. Anyways keep the good times rolling, always ecstatic to find the next Shacktac video in my sub box.

You could go to your local flying school and ask for an "introduction flight" although you might have to settle for a piston powered helicopter depending on budget. The instructor should give you control of the helicopter. It works out to $180-$300 for 30 minutes in South Africa

if you pilot it's better for you than most players and makes the controls much much much better, it's hard to explain how much it affects the gameplay. You can see how smooth it is in Dslyecxi's videos but feeling it is amazing when piloting. When i play Arma it seriously makes me feel like I own 3 monitors all in one frame. it's trippy as hell.

3:38-3:43 , "magic!" lol, love it. Decreasing lift _before_ pointing the nose upwards helps as well. ;p Many people start decreasing at the moment they tilt the nose up, that's usually a little late if the speed is a bit high. I might be totally wrong, but that's what I've been doing lately, and it seems to do the trick.

After about a year of practicing and another half a year with TrackIR and some of the tricks of the trade he taught I think I can safely say I can do a lot of the stuff Dslyecxi can do now. The man is right when he says practice greatly improves performance because it definitely does. My roof landings are fuzzy at the time and hopefully when I get my pedals soon I can improve further. Thanks for the advice you have given Dsl, very helpful. (BTW this is not a I can fly better bullshit comment)

Another great vid. Two things: 1. I used your tailrotor loss video in DayZ the other day to fly a heli a clan had left due to damage. Climbed to 400m before I finally got it straightened but it was a great feeling. 2. Can you describe your mouse setup, both the DPI settings and the X,Y sensitivity settings in Arma? Whenever I increase the DPI to gain more control in flight, it causes me to wobble when turning, particularly when turning to decrease speed and land. You always fly so smooth.

When I fly I keep having to mouse forward to keep the "nose down". I am guessing something not right in my binds but I've not sorted it out yet. Now that I get decent FPS with my rig I might be up for some basic shuttle services if I can sort out the controls a bit better.

Dsylecxi, I haven't noticed a section in TTP2 that covers Littlebird CAS, I would assume that it is much different to CAS in a Viper or an Apache, have I just missed it? Also, I would love to see a lecture video, similar to the Viper lecture, on transport flying. I know that these take time, but I thought that it is worth expressing an interest in case you had any of these lectures planned.
