Pit bulls used to be called Nanny dogs because they would watch young children while the parents were away and protect them. They were strong and agile enough to fight off most threats, and unfortunately someone saw these qualities and trained a few to fight in rings, and now people think pit bulls are "born that way."

AMAZING! Once, my brother had "abandoned" his Pit Mix dog "Dixie" at my grandmother's (the typical "I can't take her with me when I move"), and while there she gave birth to a litter. She was easily agitated, so whenever anyone passed by the yard, she would jump up to run to the fence and bark at them. While doing this, she apparently trampled one of the pups. I noticed that the pup would occasionally stop breathing, so I would have to resuscitate him. It continued to happen, so I took the puppy to the vet. This was thirty years ago, so I can't recall what the vet did/couldn't do, but I went up to the counter to pay the bill, with the pup still occasionally stopping breathing. The girl behind the counter was talking to a friend on the phone and continued to do so for THIRTY MINUTES, as I stood RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER, having to resuscitate the pup every few minutes. I finally thought "time's up", and headed out the door. Of course, she goes "Hey! Where are you going?" I didn't respond. The vet called me at home, and I'm sure I paid the bill... but I told them WHY I didn't/couldn't pay before I left! That pup didn't make it, and it was a shame because he was the pick of the litter. Imagine a cream-colored Pit with a perfect white diamond centered on the forehead! I kept one golden-colored female from that litter... Vixen... because I already had either 4 or 5 Lab/Lab Mixes : ) Other people abandon them; I pick them up... and keep them 'til they die of old age, come hell or high water... and believe me, BOTH hell AND high water HAVE come! But I wouldn't be here without them...

Look at how loveable this pit bull was. The reason people call these dogs dangerous is because their jaw locks when it bites sometimes, so people use them as the number 1 fighting dog which is wrong. There isn't a dog in the world born to be dangerous to people it's the people that make the dogs that way. The guy went to a stray pit bull and it didn't try to harm him. Then the man went and got the puppies and the dog still wasn't being dangerous. This proves my point on how they aren't born dangerous the Taught to be that way by humans. Pitbulls should be treated like any other dog. Should we treat black people different because their colour? No so why should we treat a dog different based on one feature with their jaws... It's not fair, not fair at all

Their jaws do not lock, that is a myth. Pit bulls should NOT be treated like any other dog. Pit bulls were bred for fighting other dogs: it's their instinct and they ENJOY it. Fighting other dogs is to pit bulls what herding is to collies. However, they were bred to be as people friendly as possible so they wouldn't bite the handlers during fights. They are very friendly and loyal to all people, but they should never be trusted to not fight another dog.

Most of the dislikes on these videos are from people who think the time and money should be spent on humans rather than dogs/cats, etc. Those people have never connected or bonded with a pet and can't understand that most of us count our pets as valued members of our family, not just objects.

I love pitbulls they can be the most lovable dog if you raise them right. My grandmas friend said that thay are reckless and they will turn at any point. That is not true pitbulls are mistaken, they just have powerful jaws and dog fighters use that so they will win the fight. They only sometimes attack people because they needed to defend themselves against their past owners. Like if you agree.

+Phoenix4466 Dog fighters also take advantage of the fact that Pit Bulls are incredibly loyal. People used to use them to watch over their children, they used to be called the Nanny Dogs. It's horrific what they have been through. I hope soon like, tomorrow the world will start to understand they have it wrong and we need to be careful yes, damage has been done but punishing them is not the answer.

The mom was sure freaked out! And rightly so. She calmed down so fast once she realized this meant help for her and her babies. But the most amazing thing was that she put her paw on Eldad's knee wanting him to know something was wrong, which turned out to be a bottle cap in her tummy. That would have caused much pain, with the metal edges tearing at the inside of her stomach. Not fun searching through her vomit, but they found the problem! What a lovely photo of the family a few months later. And the puppy that didn't make it - there could have been a number of reasons, but it was best if it was a sickly little one...nature has a way of taking care of these things. It's amazing that the rest survived, in that cold and uncomfortable area. Thank you Hope for Paws!!! Once again you came through and did an amazing rescue!!

I know it's been three years since the rescue but I was just recommended to watch this on my liked videos. That was so beautiful what you did for both them dogs. So sad the way they were having to live. As I watched this with tears in my eyes, I thought they were once little puppies & were abused & thrown out once they weren't puppies anymore. When all it took was to just walk up to her & give her a cheeseburger for her to go with you meant to me that she could have been saved a lot sooner but no one else did. Thanks to the caller that made you all aware she was there. Thank you so much what you do for these little angels. All they want is to be loved & they give it back with their hugs & sloppy kisses. They give so much back. I love how you all take your time to get them to calm down & show them you care with petting them & letting them know everything is going to be alright. I chipped everyone of my animals so if they ever get lost I know they will find their way home. Thank you again for what you all do. You are angels on earth.
