From this song to the emptiness machine. For 24 years Linkin park have shown us the importance of letting go of something or someone that does nothing but hurt us, no matter how much we love them. Godspeed Chester.

What about Two Faced? It sounds really similar to this song and also talks about letting go some sort of people... best song in the new album
@4rMainАй бұрын
So you only heard this song, just for Chester, and years later you heard Emptiness Machine and noticed that Chester was replaced by another singer and you felt how different these songs sounded from each other. The reality is, that the Emptiness Machine sounds like Linkin Park too cause they have old songs that sound different from this. They also have new songs that sound like Hybrid Theory. LP has a lot of fans who like other old and new songs too. Emily's voice is perfect for Linkin Park.

Fun fact: Along with the key singles: Papercut, One Step Closer, Crawling and In The End, this is the only song from Hybrid Theory that has been performed live, at least once, in their concerts after the release of a new Studio Album; even the single "Points Of Authority" wasn't played during the ATS period. A Place for My Head was the only song (not single) from HT that survived until 2017; not to mention that is one of the very first songs they made, in the Xero era, “Esaul” was its demo.

Always come here. I memorized the lyrics at my highschool era, 22 years ago and still get it at present. Not every fans of LP understand about the lyrics. Some of them just enjoying the music perfectly. Some others knowing well the deep message just like it sent to them because they feel the same. For me myself, this song represents the whole thing about life in my POV. We can't choose where we born in, can't choose the environment we grow up with. If there are something hurt, and we are in the condition that we just can scream it loudly just to feel better, we must choose this song. So thanks LP for producing this song nicely.

I watch how the moon sits in the sky in the dark night Shining with the light from the sun And the sun doesn't give light to the moon assuming The moon’s gonna owe it one It makes me think of how you act for me You do favors and then rapidly You just turn around and start asking me About things that you want back from me [Chorus:] I’m sick of the tension, sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I want to be in another place I hate when you say you don’t understand (You’ll see it's not meant to be) I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy A place for my head Maybe someday I’ll be just like you And step on people like you do and Run away of the people I thought I knew I remember back then who you were You used to be calm, used to be strong Used to be generous but you should’ve known That you’d wear out your welcome And now you see how quiet it is, all alone [Chorus (2x):] I’m so sick of the tension, sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed While I find a place to rest I want to be in another place I hate when you say you don't understand (You'll see it's not meant to be) I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy A place for my head [8x] You try to take the best of me Go away I want to be in another place I hate when you say you don't understand (You'll see it's not meant to be) I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy A place for my head Stay away! I’m so sick of the tension (stay) Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed (a-) While I find a place to rest I’m so sick of the tension (-way) Sick of the hunger Sick of you acting like I owe you this Find another place to feed your greed (stay away from me) While I find a place to rest

I find it ironic that I found my old cd case the other day. The first album I put in was panteras great southern trendkill. For some reason I couldn't vibe to it. I immediately put hybrid theory in and screamed the vocals at the top of my lungs with passerby's staring at me like I was crazy. I don't give a damn. Hybrid theory was the first album I ever owned. It has influenced me in so many ways. I have tears in my eyes as I write this. My soul hurts for his wife and children. Rest in perfection Chester. We love you man! I pray you have found solace.
