If you want to understand what is happening in gaming media, just compare and contrast this great review, with the garbage that IGN just published. Please help spread the word of your favorite KZbin critics, who make in-depth, focused, honest and knowledgable reviews like this channel. The big outlets putting out garbage reviews over and over and over, need to go away. Things like IGN and GameSpot need to die, channels who actually work for consumers like this one and many others deserve more success.

Yes, I agree. When it comes to big developers and publishers, the priority of mainstream media and KZbinrs who prioritize access over integrity, is to stay on the good graces of them, then being very linient when reviewing most AAA releases. And then they overcompensate with smaller titles like this, since there is no access to lose here, no big launch events to be flown to with paid hotels, sponsorships for the outlet, etc. Yes of course many KZbinrs play that game too, but there are many, many channels that prioritize consumers and integrity above that stuff, and that becomes evident in their behaviour and reviews. People like Skill Up-Laymen Gaming for example have been blacklisted by studios for their critical stance on their BS, and they keep being as critical of them no matter what. So it's just a matter of looking and evaluating, but as you say, you have better chances of finding honest critics here, while in mainstream media you're almost certain that they're all terrible.

Agreed. After reading both reviews, A Plague Tale is surprisingly longer than Rage 2. You can finish Rage 2 campaign in just 7 to 8 hours.

You saying it’s focused reminded me of this game where I commented the same thing about how you can tell how focused it is from just watching a little bit of gameplay. Another Great AA game that shows that you don't need a Big Budget to create emotional, great looking and fantastic games. though, they all seem to fall when it comes to combat, but story-telling is always beyond standard.

Really really enjoyed the game. I was blown away by the voice acting, especially when I learned that the actors were around the same age as the characters they portrayed, and the graphics. Spent about 15 minutes in photo mode at the beginning of the game admiring how good the environment and characters look. Loved the main character too

The only DLC that this game contains is 3 different coat of arms robes that Amecia can wear during the game but other that that this game is amazing! And in my opinion it's really good to see a game portray the Black Death in such a creepy and shocking way it is very good and I'm a sucker for Medieval games it's amazing!! And the brother and sister relationship between Amecia and Hugo is quite relatable.

I remember only seeing one ad for this game a few months ago and thinking it looked special. The story, voice acting, music, I was very interested. Later on I couldn't remember the name or find info on it, so I'm happy this just showed up on my recommended. Also it looks like my initial impressions on this weren't all totally unfounded. Currently playing Mordhau and this little gem here. both games made my a ridiculously small team, yet they have so much more heart, soul and overall quality, its insane. This game is incredible, I didn't want it to end. It's beautiful, it's immersive, it's dark and brutal, and it's heartwarming. It's definitely up there with my favourite games.

Yeah, it really resonates with me too. I binged MKIceandFire's seven-hour walkthrough and I didn't want it to end. It's so adorable in terms of the sibling relationship. The music is incredible and made me cry on a few occasions. I really hope this isn't the last we see of A Plague Tale because I would love to see more of these titles. Hope it sold enough for the developers to warrant a sequel or spin-off or whatever.

I have noticed this this game since it was released and wasn't sure it was for me so I overlooked it.......until I heard the Hellblade comparisons Started playing it this week and WOW! What a fantastic game ..it has become one of my favorite game if all time. Compare it with another teen game TLOU2, Plague Tale shines in story, character motivations. It does not delve into edgy teen soap opera drama, just platinum the day the sequel trailer got released. Please don't overlook this game..Can't wait for Plague Tale: Requiem.

Idk I bought vampyre day 1 and 'til this day a gamebreaking bug persists, to which their support forum is still getting complaints. It's a level of laziness I had yet to experience in a game tbh. I was loving it too and i do hope they patch it eventually but I'm doubtful. End rant.

There was a bit of jank that held me back from purchasing Vampyr on day one, and the graphics looked a little wonky. This game on the other hand is stunning, so glad I brought it. Am a quarter of the way through it and it has such a fantastic atmosphere.

Great review, just completed the game today and overall I liked the concept. I had a few issues with the wonky targeting at times and the skills or equipment that under performed in certain sections. Definitely worth the time to play if anyone was on the fence.

The game is an absolutely masterpiece in storytelling. I really appreciated the paired-down game mechanics that brings a focal quality you don't see in many games today. For once, we get a game that doesn't throw everything and the kitchen sink at you and a bunch of convoluted mechanics, but instead focuses on what it wants to accomplish and does it really well.

I'm so glad this came up on this channel. Literally just went on Steam to have a browse and this game was in my recommended. Had never heard of it before, but suddenly there was what looked like a big-budget AAA title that apparently came out of absolutely nowhere - I'd seen no marketing for it at all. First reaction was, 'This is a Last of Us rip-off'. Then I thought, 'Well, even if it is, TLOU is bloody incredible so even if it's half as good as that game it'll still be excellent'. I don't ever normally buy games full price so I'll probably wait until a Steam sale, but this definitely looks promising. Thanks for the review.

This seems like another AA game like Hellblade. We really need more of them. Especially with AAA publishers being what they are these days.
