This is what games are to me, single player narrative driven, great mechanics, set pieces, puzzles. It shows that games could be smaller, the game released in 2019 and a bigger sequel 3 years later. I think if studios make single player games that are only 10 to 15 hours long is perfect. They can then make more great titles, with development time significantly reduced

I beat Requiem.. one of THE BEST sequels I’ve played !! My heart couldn’t take it .. the story was gripping and the acting ( especially Amicia was FANTASTIC! )

It really is one of the best games I've ever played. The graphics look unmatched on my XSX. But boy oh boy, the story is just phenomenal, topped up with a wonderful ending imo. Must play, also it's available on game pass so definitely go play if you can.

I just couldn't with the game with that horrible whispering. "I should avoid being spotted by the gaurds by being quiet" "Oh no they are doing bad guy things" "I should stand in the tall grass and run when the enemies come close" It's insufferable and it killed my enjoyment entirely. I don't want to be treated like a child.

Just wrapped up replaying through Innocence. The first time I went in blind, I absolutely enjoyed that game. The settings, voice acting, story, etc. I haven't played Requiem yet but it's definitely one of my most anticipated games.

I went into the first Plagues Tale very skeptical because it just didn't look like my kind of game. About a year ago It hit $5 on the PS store so I went ahead and got it and fell in love with it immediately. It felt like a game that was developed by people that actually loved what they were making. Most games don't feel like this anymore. The graphics, characters, scenery, music, gameplay. It all really felt handcrafted. Can't wait to play Requiem.

Played innocence in 2019 home sick with covid on a whim. Looked chill and compelling. Really enjoyed it. Now finished up requiem with some wet eyes. We forget how invested games used to make us in the characters, that's been lost lately Really loved these two games

... and they even held back. Some of the motion capture performance for Amicia and how well the CGI model is able to reflect the performance, showing all the subtleties, is impressive. And they even do not show it on camera all the time; you only see it if you go into photo mode and focus the camera on the Amicia character model: Fear, anger, happiness, it's all there. One example is the first attach scene when the camera focuses on Hugo calling the rats - go into photo mode, turn the camera around and focus on Amicia and - holy sh*t - you can see the heartbreaking fear, anger and desparetion in Amicia's face struggling with the two famers above her. You can go in so many scenes into close up and Amicia's face feels real. You can really see how much love the model makers put into Amicia to make this character as photo and movie realistic as possible. To me Amicia is the first realtime rendered CGI character that felt real in many scenes, due to the CGI model and the driving software, but also the motion capture performance by Robyn Wolf and Charlotte McBurney.

I share that sentiment, Robin, games like this are why I play games. I’m sick of big-ass open world games advertised as 100 hour experiences worth of your time. This feels like a breath of fresh air among the AAA landscape!

Well I was looking forward to Requiem, but now, even more^^ I loved the historical accuracy of the first game. I agree with you on the puzzle-like gameplay, it worked but wasn't the strongest point of the game. Glad to hear they improved on that!

This game is a solid 8.5 ... but it's setting characters and never scene before scenarios that it puts you in and imagery ( from a director's stand point) ... will make you gasp like you very rarely do GASP since the microtransaction ERA and OPEN WORLD ERA has started, + in my eyes this is the 1st true next gen experience what you will see in this game and what ASOBO's in-house engine can do without having "trails and artifacts" lile UE has is absolutely awe inspiring, they should sell this engine. But like i said this game deserves the fallowing awards, BEST GRAPHICS, BEST CHARACTERS, BEST SOUNDTRACK & GAME OF THE YEAR for sure because it's an experience like no other and just because of that everytime a memory pops-up about the game i will allways give it a 10.

Actually they said the total number of rats in one scene was a maximum of 5000 in the first game but in Requiem that number grew to a staggering 300000. Yes, 60 times more.

Very much agree with your uncharted1 to uncharted2 leap in quality comparison! This feels like such a step up compared to the first game and I already really enjoyed the scenery and atmosphere of the first; the gameplay just fell a bit short here and there. This second game retains the basic elements but just expands it enough to make it feel more interesting. The larger level design goes a long way here. Also this really feels like a leap in hardware generations and shows promise for the hopefully more and more upcoming current-gen only releases.

There's a channel called Funhaus and one of the things they do a lot is play crappy games and make fun of them. They started playing A Plague Tale: Innocence and where ripping on it. By the second chapter you can see their attitudes change and get silent during the story scenes as they realize that they are playing something really special.

This game, God of War Ragnarok and the Callisto protocol are the only bright spots for this year, at least for me. Hopefully those last two are great yeah? nah it basically follows the sony templete especially the uncharted/last of us style but it never reaches those hights its still very good but the writing gameplay and polish holds it back a little bit its not on the level of the first last of us ucnharted 4 and god of war.

Gonna wait on deep sale for this game. The first game is a basic walking simulator with a good story and while this game has improved a little in terms of gameplay, it doesn't seem to have improved enough to make me want to actually play it. I don't mind walking simulators but if they are priced above $25 they need to have actual gameplay or lots of replayability.

i played on normal to me the best way to play the game is mostly avoid combat as much as you can and just stealth through areas the only chalenging part for me was a pretty bullshit combat arena towards the end.

I never had any issues. Only a few parts with noticeable dips. I'm actually hearing now that the performance on PC is apparently very rough, now I definitely understand why they capped it on PS5. Lack of 60fps is obviously a bummer, but for the type of game this is I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker myself.

It's like they gave the story ending to tlou2 and dexter tv series screenwriters. Like they teach us to give up on loving ones, to give up, that defending and fighting for loved ones is bad. They also choped her look during the game and then totally at the end. Several times she "is being told" to calm down, not to kill soldiers, who are attacking you and your family. WTF is that attitude? "No more violence" bullshit. Pansies! She and her family is defending themselves. Endure a lot and at the end.. for nothing.
