Agree 100 percent. Nice video. I only have 1 question why can't the body detect Hiv during the early phase or upon entry? I have a theory which could be extremely wrong- because Hiv is so unique- the body of course can detect Hiv. However during early immune response Hiv can easily elude this by giving up its receptor sites( gp 120). The immune system would stop attacking the virus because it only attacks virus with antennas or gp 120. In the absence of gp 120 it would shut down. Then Hiv would grow back its gp 120 if threatened again it would give it up again. The process would go on and on until it reaches its target tcell. By then it's check mate.anyway it's just a theory which is probably wrong anyway. I just wish people with Hiv aids will be healed soonest.

Horrible decease that almost single handily killed an entire generation of men who were in their prime in the late 70's and 80's in the UK and east coast US (think of people like Freddie Mercury). Glad to see it's no longer the death sentence it once was.

As of 2018, a 4th Generation HIV 1 & 2 duo/combo Antibody test (has a 95% accuracy in 30 days after possible exposure and 99.7% accurate after 90 days) along with a HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (99.7% accuracy after 30 days). Both test will be a blood draw taken to a laboratory for processing (not a rapid test). The 4th generation HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test is far better than the previous HIV 3rd generation test, which required retesting at 90 days. The 4th generation duo HIV 1 & 2 Antibody test along with an HIV 1 RNA QL TMA (early detection test) will be given to be conclusive that you are HIV negative. The HIV 1 RNA looks for the actual HIV DNA in your system and has pretty much replaced the Western Blot. Both HIV vaccines SAV001H & HVTN 702 have both advanced to Phase III trails! I wonder if those vaccines can be combined?

I had a friend who is suffering from HIV-1, He doesn't have any ither illness except th HIV and my friend is lucky then. He is 17 years old right now and taking the antiretroviral medicine that could really stop the break down of the other cells inside his body and even the virus will be held by the antiretroviral medicine, he is taking the medicine for about four months and he will have to get tested this coming January 11, 2019 to know if his CD-4 has improved and if the antiretroviral drug is effective. My guess is HIV still exists in the body, even with undetectable loads. More practically, this treatment is a way that patients can cut down on those daily meds, at least for a time. Nonetheless, good effort on everyone's part, and it is another baby step in the right direction of great things!
