This week I pay tribute to my childhood favorite movie, Pretty In Pink. I discuss the fashion that inspired me growing up and attempt my own dress upcycle the way Andie did for prom. I also clean and organize my jewelry and finish organizing my closet, all in another week with me. Thanks for watching!

Oh for sure! The emo moody guy-liner was such a thing! I dated a guy briefly who kept black lipstick in his glovebox and painted his nails black 😂

Loved this so much. I loved Molly Ringwald when I was growing up and definitely identified with her character Andy from Pretty in Pink. I was a teen who loved thrifting, and was kind of an outsider and different. I also disliked her final prom dress in the film and I always wished she had of worn the ball gown style dress her father gifted her 🥰 Your dress turned out so lovely. You're so talented with sewing 🥰💖

I'm so surprised to learn how many people didn't like the final dress as well! It's nice to know the back story, that Molly didn't like it either. 🤯 This whole time I thought I just didn't have elevated fashion sense to understand it. Now I know! 😂

Such a fun theme, great effects and editing too! I've been crazy about Pretty in Pink since its release too - and that scene will always be one of my faves. I'm not sure I even really considered whether I liked the dress or not, when I think about it, because I loved the concept (although I love the collared neckline and exposed shoulders). I made that dress for a 'our childhood heroes' Hallowe'en party theme about ten years ago - I had to paint the polka dots on as I couldn't find a polka dot fabric that felt right! I love the dress revamp, and seeing you sew on the floor is awesome - I do more of my creations set up like that than I care to admit. Ha!!! Thank you Seanna! (Oh, and I have that sewing machine - in my short life as a hairstylist - I got shut down by covid and never got to return to the salon - I used my Gran's, that was her mother's, as my counter space in front of my chair.)

I can't believe you have the sewing machine! I will regret not getting it for a long time. 😭 Do you use it?? Like, does it actually work and still have parts you can buy if needed to replace any? I'm so intrigued!

@@SeannaMiriah I am certain I could get it running again! My great-grandmother bought it when they arrived in Canada from Scotland in 1914, and made my great-uncle's baby clothes on it! My Gran was just 18 months old then. Gran used it forever, made things on it when we were growing up too! We used to get in trouble for making the treadle foot go! Ha!! Singer is incredible!!
