Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Sabotage Challenge Ruleset:
7. No soft-locking your opponent
8. You must keep at least two Pokémon for the other player at all times
9. If your opponent wipes, you must complete their section, if you cannot, then you lose!

When I saw FlygonHG name the Ledian Logan, I was all like 'that's MY name!!!' and then I excitedly cheered Ledian on in all his fights. I was especially proud of Logan when he hit his fourth Giga Drain and took out the Seismatoad, which is one of my personal least favorite pokemon. The bumps and red eyes make me uncomfy. And he comes in clutch again when he takes out the Drapion! That's TWO of Ghestis's pokemon!!! Good job, little guy! A really good effort against Samurott, Logan! Too bad you're a Ledian and your stats suck. Still proud of you!!

A couple of Spanish guys did something cool which they called the "Bullyinglocke" in which basically every episode of the series the "bully" would invent a rule to follow for the player in that particular episode. I guess u can try it with a rule per gym or something like that

These sabotage rules kinda remind me of a similar kind of game a friend and I would play while playing GTA that we called “lemme me fix it for you”. Usually 4 or San Andreas, basically just taking turns doing something crazy that would get our character killed in the craziest and funniest way possible. Before the point of death, we would pause it and say “here I fixed it for you” and when they died, they’d do the same to me

I really liked watching the back and forth sabotaging at the end of each section, that was fun. It was smart when PaPaSea left you right in front of that double battle with a pretty bad team. He made it incredibly easy for you to walk into an unprepared fight, while he would know to go back and get the Dratini if he had to play that section. If you do more of these challenges (which you should btw) I think those kind of sabotage strategies will succeed. Keep it up guys :)

It's worth noting that some people don't apply the species clause if you find the evo for a dead pokemon. It rarely comes up so I'm not surprised it wasn't discussed before the run.

This video gave me an idea for a different and possibly more fun version of this challenge: -the MOMENT you beat the gym leader, you save the game and trade the save file. You are not allowed to do any more sabotaging after beating the gym. If you lose the nuzlocke, you lose the challenge (even if you are the saboteur). This guarantees the game to be in a beatable state, as you need to sabotage the thing as much as possible whilestill being able to *barely* scrape by the next gym. If you ruin things too much, you risk whiting out and losing the challenge. But if you don't ruin things enough, you make it too easy for the opponent. This might be best with both players playing their own games, and the winner in case of a tie being the one who spent the least amount of time during their segments.
