Avernus....the best album I've heard in the last year. \Funeral's vocals need to grow on me...its so different I feel I need to adjust to that type of vocal matched to doom metal music. Keep up the good work...my go to source for doom!

Excellent doom update Liam. I really like Sanctuarium. I haven’t got this one yet, but I have the 2 full lengths and the split with Majick Howl. Avernus is quality. They have a CD “Where The Sleeping Shadows Lie” which is compilation of early releases Including the “Sadness” demo, my favorite. Crypt Sermon just keeps getting better.. Cheers

Marble Orchard is great, just one talented dude ripping it up and it works really well. Altar of Oblivion is a great band, haven't given the new one much time yet, still listen to their debut from time to time. Mad to think their Danish when you hear him sing haha! Cheers for watching

That Jade/Sanctuarium split is ace, fantastic combo. Do struggle with the new vocalist in Funeral, might give it another go at some point. Sorrow's Forgotten Sunrise ep from 1991 is a great overlooked deathy doomy album. They recently released an album after decades I believe.

Hahaha I won't be getting any credit this Christmas as I haven't listened to half of the 2024 releases I've bought. Do have that Avernus, love the cover but I have to be in the mood for clean vocals. The Jade split is awesome, I slept on it for a bit but after Roger showed it I bought the cd and then the cassette. I'm preferring black and gloomy to the doomy, doomy, doomy but both fit my mood at the moment 😅 About time I get that Crypt Sermon cheers chap 🍻

From these wounds is certainly their strongest album imo but i love them all. As the light does the shadows was my introduction to them, that even has Rob Lowe from Solitude Aeturnus singing on a song. They're all great after that so it's all depends on your mood i guess. Cheers for watching mate
