I can testify that spending even a small amount of time each day in God’s Word makes a huge change. I am 62 years old and two years ago my husband to make a career change and my husband joined the State Department, it has been quite the change. We currently live in West Africa and it has been lonely, so I’ve have turned to God and His Word, and it has made a huge difference. I am currently using the First 5 app. and have learned so much. I’ve established a routine of getting up, exercising, and then grabbing a cup of tea and settle down to open His Word. I am learning, growing and taking notes. This is the first time that I feel God has given me a word for this year -pursue. So my goal this year is to pursue God and learn from Him.

Diana! I feel so blessed to have found you! Several weeks ago I stumbled onto one of Dawn's videos and started to binge her videos, which I loved. Eventually, I saw that you were in one of them (the two of you were working on your bedroom in the family home). By the way, I don't think you look like identical twins. Sisters, yes, and maybe even fraternal twins, but not identical. But I digress. Once I found you, I've been doing a deep dive into your videos, and what a breath of fresh air you are! I've never heard or seen any Christian teachings so amazingly real and relatable. I so appreciate your honest approach and the ease with which you apply it to your life. I've been a little apprehensive to start reading the Bible. I never know where to start. I world start in Genisis and then it would die out. I'm glad I saw your video today and I downloaded the apps you had mentioned in hopes that it will help me get comfortable reading the Bible. Thank you! The world is dark now. We need more light!

Diana I was just thinking this approach sounds so similiar to First 5 I've been using for years now. And there you have it on your list! I actually do it as my last 5 of the day. Having had that experience I absolutely agree with your approach. I think that so often when we try to go through the Bible cover to cover, as I did as a youth and later, after awhile we're really not paying attention or absorbing--we're really just focused on "getting through it." Maybe it's just me! I've studied scripture since childhood and I do think this approach holds so much value because you can go deep into languages and culture over time. For me, it has made scripture so much more meaningful to my daily walk! S: Let your light shine before others. O: Don't keep it to yourself. Let it shine on everyone you come in contact with. A: I try to meet everyone with respect and a smile. I make it a point to thank those people who do work such as cashiering, the work that often is take for granted. Even when I am ill I try to remember to thank every person who helps me at the ER where I go often. I've made it a point to give witness to family and friends when God has showed up in my life. K: Lord help me not to shrink back into my introvert head. Help me to keep shining it out to people! Diana I appreciated trying out SOAK. Really like it! Thank you!

We know that our salvation is free and that good deeds are not what will take us to heaven but the scripture says to do good deeds to be recognized by others. The good deeds do not make us a better Christian but as servant hood to others. Thank you for this.
