Thank you Diana for addressing this very important topic and taking the steps to help us all learn how to make friends again in this distracted world. Many blessings on you and your family as you teach us.

What if we do not feel the need to have friends? What does that say about me? LOL

I have ONE best friend, and ONE close runner up. That's all I need. I HATE to entertain. I've been in my home for 17 years. I have never entertained ANYONE. That is 110% fine with me. Please do what feels best for you. I have buddies at church. We text/call every now and then, but I never feel lonely. Folks, do what feels right for you. "People-ing" makes me feel anxious. Don't invite me. I am not coming.

I still go into the grocery store. I don't even like to go through the self check-out...so impersonal. When I went through the regular checkout line at my local grocery store this morning, the cashier said, "Thank you for coming in. It's really good to see you." ❤

Your prayer for a special neighbor sounds a lot like mine. I was VERY specific, and God brought us exactly the right neighbors!!

my grandmother and her mother lived in a small village in France. women met in the circle in summer, (in a church or village area in winter) and knitted etc. weekly. Families also lived together or near each other. I do think tv/computer changed a lot of things. Thank you for the video!!!

I think the lockdown during Covid escalated the problem with loneliness, certainly in people who had to isolate. Even getting back to church regularly is difficult. Thank you for your insights

I'm 48 years old and went thru life with 3 best friends. They are all I need. As we get older we are making it a priority to get our families together more often and we are loving it! We have definitely pulled each other thru some difficult times together.

You're so right, Diana. I'm grateful for my best friend, who is like a sister to me. I do have friends at church, but none of them are as close as Kim and I are. Of course, I consider my husband my best friend because we do life together everyday and I love that man of mine ❤.

If this floats your boat ok. I do not entertain. I have been in my home since 2005. I have hosted zero things. One neighbor came inside my home for a few minutes when my son died earlier this year. My best friend has been here TWICE. We've been friends since the late 1990s. The "thought" of entertaining makes me nervous. I like my home, clean and quiet. I don't own a television. I have never purchased one. Carry on folks...

You two are such a blessing, thank you. ❤❤❤❤❤. I love how you talk Diana 😊 and you too Dawn. I believe a pastor needs to be someone that can lead people to God and help them to stay there, that is their true role, in my opinion.

One tip for Bible memorization that I learned from a friend was to put a 4x6 card with a scripture passage on it in a zip lock bag and hang it in your shower! You can look at it while washing your hair and change the card to a new verse when you've got it!

When I was in my twenties I would call my dad a lot. I later learned that at times he would set the phone down and fix himself a bowl of ice cream. When he picked the phone up I was still talking. I am much older now and I talk to just about anyone.😊

I’m a two of everything too! If I find something that’s comfortable then it’s two. Two jeans, two cargo pants, two pairs of shorts, T-shirts etc except for a few dressier tops - maybe three. That’s it! Then I do also have office wear, so along with the dressier tops I have three pairs of pants that are formal! A couple of Jackets and some cardigans that I wear. Still decluttering the left over clothes. Test driving (as per Dawn) minimal wardrobe and kitchen so far, and it’s changed my life!!! Thank you both for your inspiration (I’m a (lady) - can you tell I’m from the UK? - lay minister in the Anglican Church, which means I don’t get paid haha, but my Christian background is varied, and also missions. Love what you are both doing - it’s ministry!

The friendship path is very different for extroverts and introverts. Knowing your neighbors and having friendship with them is a challenge. Sometimes the only thing you have in common is that you picked the same street to live on.
